  1. Good for Glass Castle, and decent for Student Film.Anyways, those drops aren't really realistic for labor day weekend. Things should have dropped much less than they did.
  2. I'm still not happy with Spark's numbers, but whatever. You're not going to change numbers, so I guess that's that. At least you didn't give it bad legs.
  3. Ugh, that's really dissapointing for Spark.
  4. Those are insane legs for Best Friends Forever. Still, I won't complain. That single digit budget is going to yield massive profit. :shades:Anyways, I think you're overestimating some of the effects of animated films on competition. True, I said that competition should be effected, but that doesn't mean that animated movies drop over 50% when a family film makes 3.5m! Even ParaNorman dropped 26% against Finding Nemo 3D.
  5. Fingers crossed for Spark to do well. If it does what people are predicting, I'll be very happy, and it lets me kick off a new franchise.
  6. Isn't it the other way around? Most animated films drop as soon as the next big one opens.Other than that, pretty much everything is going as expected.
  7. IMO, Hiccup, it's okay to start sooner rather than later. We already had four complete predictions of the year as well as five lists already completed. Wait before you get someone else's input, though.
  8. Sylvian Chomet To Direct Y5 Movie For Hourglass Pictures Sylvian Chomet (The Illusionist, The Triplets Of Bellville) is set to direct "Magie" (the french word for Magic) an animated film film for Hourglass Pictures to distribute. The film will be traditionally animated, almost entirely in black and white. No dub is planned for the English language, so the film will be released in French with English subtitles. Set in the late 1940s, he film will focus on a young adult girl from France, who sneaks aboard a plane headed towards Hollywood. The girl was inspired by the beautiful classic films that came from the United States, from Casablanca to The Wizard Of Oz. The film will supposedly be a love letter simultaneously to the golden age of American film, as well as the magic of animation. It is set to recieve a platform release over Holiday Season Y5. In addition to its celebration of classic cinema, the film is scheduled to recieve a limited engagement in 70mm screens,
  9. So, exactly what heroes are going to be in the Justice League movies? Just the ones in CAYOM, or DC characters that already had movies, too?
  10. Yep, SLP will have a huge advantage with winning big at TIFF, plus people are digging Jennifer Lawrence.
  11. 1. Looper2. Django Unchained3. Seven Psychopaths4. Frankenweenie5. Les Miserables6. Argo7. Skyfall8. Wreck-It Ralph9. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey10. Cloud Atlas
  12. ^Agree with this. In terms of summer indie films, Beasts Of The Southern Wild, Moonrise Kingdom, and Safety Not Guaranteed were better, IMO.
  13. Heh, I seem to be one of the few here who thought Booster Gold was the best of the superhero films this year.
  14. I'm thinking that the nominees this year will be...AlesiaThe Good Die YoungWenanThe Road HomeThe Glass Castle
  15. Thanks for 3, 4, 16, 17, and 18. :)Also, the CC thread has been updated.
  16. Not necessarily on topic, but you should make a list for Y4, Impact.
  17. The Road Home and The Glass Castle haven't topped the first five lists, but they're two of the current three leaders. Interesting.
  18. Stop being ridiculous. It's clearly going to be the Kardashian movie.
  19. And you replaced it with one of my films, too.
  20. Ready Player One is also doing very well.
  21. Student Film makes another list. :)The Simulation and The Glass Castle are already set to be on your list, and I hope Spark can sneak in, as well.
  22. Another rave for Glass Castle. Awesome! I'm seriously thinking that a BP nod can happen. Also, Student Film will do for laser tag arcades what 500 Days Of Summer did for IKEA.
  23. To have a 200k PTA for the weekend, The Master needs to go up 25% today and drop 15% tomorrow. It's extremely difficult, but it's not impossible.EDIT: Nevermind, I just realized it was on 5 theaters, not 4. Still, this is unbelievably amazing.
