A little more than $240 million. I'm aware. But it's still going to suck the air out of the box office. June also has a bit of competition, so again, Baywatch feels very out of place. Moving it just because Alien: Covenant landed on its initial release date was a boneheaded move. It would have stood a better chance there.

Then I'll probably see it on opening weekend. I'm not saying it won't. It's probably going to make some money because Dwayne Johnson is one of the lead characters. But considering how much money Stranger Tides made---even though it was a stinking turd---I wouldn't be surprised if it made more than $1 billion just as easily as that film.

The ARG website Discover Skull Island just had a HUGE update. There are interactive monster reports, giving detailed information on monsters featured in the trailers and TV spots, as well as some that haven't been revealed yet. There are field reports from the character Brooks, some photography from Mason Weaver (Brie's character), and GIF images of some of the locations to be shown in the film. Just be warned that it is spoiler intensive. Especially the field recordings.

$280 million on the low end, $330 million tops.

Back in the days when I lurked, tons of people were excited for Godzilla. So to answer your question, no. And I'm not really hearing any negativity. Only repeated remarks that there is little buzz for this movie. The difference is again, based on huge buzz. Which Godzilla had leading up to its release.

Fixed. Also...assuming that it had high overseas numbers, that domestic gross would more than likely be very favorable. But then again, your multiplier is off. For Kong to open at $43 million and accumulate a final domestic gross of $162 million, it would need a multiplier of 3.77 after it opens. That's unheard of for a movie with that low of an opening. I'm guessing you're new to this. Added note: WaterTower Music just revealed a track from the movie on YouTube.

Get Out February 23rd, 2017, 7:00 PM, 45% full Park Place Stadium Cinema | Charleston, WV The crowd was lively during this film. They were bonkers, too. I'm surprised I enjoyed the experience as much as I did because of it. Most were either high school or college kids. Trailers: T2 Trainspotting - No response. Kong: Skull Island - Two teenage girls (I think they were girls) stood up to take a selfie. They were on the other side of the row I always sit in, at the very back. Some laughter at John C. Reilly's character. Alien: Covenant - Whispers and laughter for some reason? Weird. Power Rangers - One kid two rows ahead of me said (and I quote): "Bullshit." The Mummy - Silence. Fate of the Furious - The audience got loud very, very quickly. I could tell that they enjoyed it. I liked the movie, but there were 46 people seated. By the end of the film, there were only 35 people. A chunk of them left during the second act. I think it failed to click with those who left. Otherwise, there were moments of awkward laughter and some people even jumped at certain parts.

Saw it. Just like most horror films, I didn't find it scary in any way, shape or form. However, while it failed at being scary, it IS a horror film with brilliant satire and superb, comedic delivery. However, a significant number of people were leaving the theater during the film. There were 46 people in the beginning. Near the end, there were 35. Not all of them appeared to be in groups. There will be a number of people who don't understand the messages that Get Out conveys. It's not the average horror film in more ways than one.

Uncharted | February 18, 2022 | Trailer on Page 28!

Fucking hell, I did a double take and confused this with The Last of Us, which has been in development hell for a long time. So has this. Both were developed by Naughty Dog too, so I got confused. I was actually excited. So now, I'm mildly embarrassed and peeved to boot. -

Joe Carnahan’s ‘Uncharted’ Script Is R-Rated with the “Craziest Action Sequences” Ever http://collider.com/uncharted-r-rating-joe-carnahan Hopefully its R-rating is in line with the tone of the games. But it sounds really hopeful after reading that article. -
New website has gone live. It gives some information about Kong and the Skull Crawlers, as well as some other background details. People who want to go in blind may not want to read this. http://kongsized.kongskullislandmovie.com Also, here is another promotional image, this time for screenings in select cities.

Ooooooo. What's in the box? If I had to guess, it's probably going to be an attraction set to promote the film. A similar thing was done for Godzilla in Japan some time before its release in that market. Turns out I was correct: https://www.madametussauds.com/london/en/latest-news/whats-coming-next/monstrous-delivery-arrives-at-madame-tussauds-london/

Skull Island | 258 mil OS - 392 mil WW
NoobSaibot replied to CaptainJackSparrow's topic in International Box Office
The only reason why I'm hesitant to jump on board even the $100m+ club for China is because Peter Jackson's King Kong was released almost 12 years ago. That was a long time ago, and things are different. But like others have said, the market's been strong, so who knows? Still, I'm very skeptical of the $200 million prediction. -

Some of these predictions are nuts. Especially $200 million from China. Is King Kong even that popular over there? I don't think he is.
