  1. I like to look at things this way: Visitors buying tickets worth 200m this weekend have seen 5 or 6 trailers, Inside Out being one of them in some cases, in a full theater with a great overall movie experience. I can't help but think that this is not a curse for Inside Out, it's a blessing.
  2. I'm quite amazed at how people yell for Jaws 5 here after JWs success. I mean, what do those movies have in common? Jaws scared the shit out of the audience back in 75, this was definetely not the selling point of JP, which was just a much lighter fun ride adventure. I don't think Jaws 5 would work in todays societey. It still works as classic, but as a modern movie? Not convinced. Not at all.
  3. Guys in their 20s-30s were not even born or young kids when the original opened though...
  4. MJ2 should do 375m or 400m, before we even start to think about 450m. I personally think, that this won't have a big jump. HG and CF just had the better selling point with the Hunger Games in it and MJ was by far the worst book, I hope they at least try to not finish it on that depressing note Collins did with the book, that would kill every chance for it.
  5. "Spielberg creates Dinosaurs, Johnston kills Dinosaurs, Spielberg creates Trevorrow, Trevorrow kills Spielberg, Trevorrow brings back Dinosaurs"
  6. Not a problem. Monsters University and WWZ did 82,5m and 66,5m in 2013, while MOS did an additional 41m.
  7. I don't know, Transformers was well received and the first one made 155m in 6 days already...
  8. It might get close for the OW, but the opening week is a done deal. I think I'm lost for words here.
  9. Let's play the game being conservative: 80m Friday 59m Saturday 47m Sunday 21m Monday 19m Tuesday 14m Wednesday 12m Thursday ---------------------- 21m Friday 28m Saturday 25m Sunday (Father's Day) So that would be 326m after its second weekend, conservatively spoken, of course we should talk about 500m here... Let's do it again being less conservative: 82m Friday 65m Saturday 55m Sunday 27m Monday 24m Tuesday 18m Wednesday 16m Thursday ------------- 30m Friday 40m Saturday 36m Sunday That would be 393m. I guess the questions would be answered then.
  10. 100%. The absolute minimum this would do is 177m (-10% sat/-25% sun), but this would be more than unlikely.
  11. I'd be surprised, if this did 150m. Over at Flixster this is doing "Tomorrowland"-Numbers so far...
  12. Nice side-effect: June will now be an option for future Tentpoles.
  13. Remember? "Nobody move a muscle". Pretty much the only remarkable line in that movie.
  14. I feel like having drunk a cauldron full of Felix Felecis tonight. Everything just HAS to go right.
  15. I think our excitement this evening is a good indicator of what's to come. While AOU, though incredibly big, felt underwhelming and somehow empty missing the hype, it's completely there for JW and that's the reason, why this is passing AOU and probably the 500m mark now.
  16. A TV-Show with not even 10m viewers having an impact? I don't know about that....
  17. No reserved seatings there, but seems like a lot of shows sold out. And I thought Toronto wouldn't care for JW.
  18. So it needed Jurassic World to crash this place on a big night for the first time. Well done, Rexy. I'm proud, what a glorious night.
  19. Arclights on the westcoast sell out pretty much all the 10PM-11PM shows and start to go capacity for the 11PM-12AM showings already. Crazy.
  20. Can't wait for RTH to jump out of the bush, holding his jizzed pants in the hand, saying: "Sorry guys, it wasn't the I-Rex, it was only those damn oisters" 70-75m.
  21. There was. We went from 67-71, to 71-75, to 76-79 to Oh my God, he really just ripped his pants to pieces in what looks like being earth-coloured.
