  1. Actually, 125 would be in play without even getting ridiculous. I mean? Where would be the limit after such a big friday jump? 35 46,2 (+32%) 44 (-5%)
  2. Not if the ranges stay like RTH gave them to us. For that to happen, JW had to come in under 30m and IO had to do 35m.
  3. Even that low end is bigger than anything I would have imagined, though. JW is officially insane and, this time for real, nothing can stiop this. Nothing. With that Friday you can lock 600m.
  4. 115Mio would be the low end...35m would be absolutely out of this world.
  5. Sorry guys for being part of why the thread got locked. It wasn't my intention to ruin that night and the fun we all have with numbers like those on great weekends like these.
  6. If kids walk around in a theater, blame the parents for not knowing what their kids are capable of. In my opinion, a 3 year old has no business being in a theater, watching a 90minute movie, it's just too much to ask for him/her to concentrate and be calm. Try it again at the age of 5 or 6, but I think Germany has a completely different menatality in that case. And I also never had a bad experience when I went to the movies with my niece and nephew, but again, Germans are usually pretty calm, while american audience, at least I heared that many times, is a little bit more outgoing, so like the parents I guess.
  7. A presale-fiasco won't happen for either JWs 2nd WE nor for IO, though. And even the mighty RTH had no chance against that unusual behavior.
  8. What might be an issue for IO: Even though it might sell out heavily, it might be, that JW still has the bigger theaters by contract. It's not the first time things like these happen.
  9. This is kind of a free interpretation. Shrek scored an out of this world multiplier of 6.3 and that's why Shrek just hit a nerve and was also a great movie. Of course the sequel scores big after that, I don't think this has too much to do with the market being open, otherwise "The Incredibles" could have done this, too. But it didn't.
  10. It had a precedessor making 400m and Spider Man 3 making 29m as counter programming that weekend.
  11. I love christmas movies and they barely do any nowadays and when they do, they are horrible.
  12. Movies Like "Jobs" or "When the Game stands tall" did around the same number in August and failed to cross the 10m-mark with a higher theater count. So I'm not sure about that. Dope obviously has the critics, though.
  13. Will probably get closer at night again. Of course now that early shows start rolling, IO has the upper hand.
  14. Compared to MU, I think IO might have been a bit female-driven and thatfor a bit inflated on those previews in comparison, so I don't see numbers like 90m as a given at all, but this is a huge, huge number. Also consider that a big opener like JW might as well produce a little general cinema hype for that special experience in all those sold out showings the last weekend, where people saw the IO trailer. This is going to be a big and exciting weekend. I really feel for the employees. The second weekend in a row, where they have to handle recordbreaking stuff.
  15. 17m would be a bit low to grab that 100m mark, 18m might just work out. We'll see. Inside Out looks to be big, though. Very big. Might be just the scenario I was expecting: Hits generate Hits. JW is blessing for IO, not a curse.
  16. Mh, unfortunately not the greatest start, but it's pretty much the only Pixar not opening in the summer holidays, so there's still hope that this might score big.
  17. You could also spin it the other way: Wasn't the OW too big for the epic weekdays? There are no rules for movies like these. This could very well do 100m with father's day leaving sunday flat.
  18. Spy is having a lower tuesday increase on tuesday compared to one week earlier, so I think JW holding nearly flat is great, great news.
  19. I don't think any director with a name would do the job, knowing, that the possible plotdevelopment in this world is not wide open at all. They had that problem before in 1997, they will have it now
  20. Now that's a rebound to absolutely out of this world...in style. Stunning number. JW, as all the other uber-blockbusters, creates its own run of history and it should.
