  1. There's one good thing with message boards, it's just 2 klicks to expose the troll: Maybe you should just go and love something that's worth it, instead of hating without looking at the facts. You didn't like MOS, you underestimated it, go on and live with it.
  2. As I said, SR did ridiculously low numbers, it wasn't even able to manage 500k admissions here. Since then, Superheroes have gone a long way at german box office. "Iron Man 3" doubled its predecessor, "The Dark Knight Rises" topped even "The dark knight", after that one went on to more that triple "Batman Begins". With all that Nolan-spirit around that project, MOS should be able to have 1.5m admissions.
  3. But it should be a journalists work to question things and in my opinion that site is doing not enough in that department. Concerning Box Office, i'm not reading the rest.
  4. It can't be that hard to finally learn how to interpret those numbers, Nikki is lucky to have insight at. It's embarrassing, that that site can't do proper journalism when it comes to box office numbers. How long is she doing this? Maybe she should just ask some users of this forum to help her. I guess they would do it for free.
  5. Expect $7m OW from Germany and $20m+ total.
  6. SR did absolutely awful in Germany. Expect MOS to at least triple those numbers. Previews on wednesday look pretty strong already and weather should be cinema friendly.
  7. 110-120m with mid 40s friday? Can't see this. Absolute worst case is 115m and that would include a 10% saturday drop and another 15% on father's day.
  8. Deep inside we all knew this would happen. Some were too weak to keep believing after critics came in, but really, those trailers were just too good to make people believe the critics. It's another amazing day for box office and I hope the movie will turn out to be as good as the excitement, a weekend like this gives a Boxoffice forum. Oh and, MTC was so horribly wrong again for both movies this weekend.
  9. So even if we would just ignore those Walmart Shows, 9m is an amazing midnight number.
  10. It should drop harder on thursday I would guess. 7,5 4,3 7,7 9,1 8,1 Something like this.
  11. It's double, what "Evil Dead" did. Purge is obviously not doing 50m OW, but maybe it's going to hit mid 30s.
  12. Oh my God, "The Purge" is breaking out like crazy. http://www.deadline.com/2013/06/the-purge-opens-to-3-4m-late-shows/
  13. It's not important, if Fast 6 beat NYSM by a couple of thousand Dollars. It's important, that NYSM managed such a big jump in right line with holdovers on its first tuesday. Very promising.
  14. Competition for NYSM? Where? This is the only movie for an older audience until RED 2 hits theaters. And look at its IMDB-Score. It's going up very fast.
  15. Great Number for NYSM. Should be able to do 100m now.
  16. I loved "Signs", until they killed the movie by showing the Aliens in full scale and made them so...stupid. The scene you see the aliens leg disappearing in the corn field is one of the best scary movie scenes of all time. Same for "The Village". Could have been good, but that Twist made the movie so much smaller that it looked before. And I have to admit, that I liked "The Happening" and some of the Ideas. It's a scary scenario, with better writing it could have been great. "Lady in the Water" is just...boring. "The last Airbender" is the only movie, that I would call really, really, really awfully bad. The rest is some sort of Anti-Hype that somehow surrounds Shyamalan-movies. They wouldn't be reviewed THAT bad, if the same movies were made by another director. But back to topic: 20m would be absolutely embarassing, really. Can't believe that,
  17. This must be the biggest tuesday number of all time after Memorial Day, right?Amazing for Fast 6 and a pretty good thursday for Hangover, too.
  18. Wasn't Universal the Studio, that usually reported numbers pretty early?
  19. Thanks for clearing things up, though that was obviously not a case of classic overestimating. I guess I was too young to hear the uproar about wrong reported boc office numbers in a foreign country back then.
  20. But if you google for "Scream 3" and "estimates", you get some articles, that have an estimate, that's just half a million Dollar bigger than actuals. Don't know where that 9m number came from. It just wouldn't make sense. As I said before, maybe that was the estimate after friday numbers, but no way they overestimated it by 9m after they had that saturday number.
  21. But that must have been after its Friday numbers, not after Saturday was in. Or how should that work?
  22. Has there ever been a movie overprojected by 6m or more? Could totally happen here.
