  1. @cayommagazine Neil Patrick Harris and Chiwetel Ejifior joins the cast of Endless Entertainment’s adaptation of Meet The Robinsons; A Day With Wilbur Robinson. Harris will play the infamously evil and rather daffy Bowler Hat Guy, and Ejifior will voice a robotic character similar to that off Carl the Robot from the original. The film will be released Y6.
  2. Spider Verse will likely be in the $190M range due to tough competition from Lego 2 and Dragon 3 though praying for that glorious $200M DOM due to the various injustices the cinematic gods Lord and Miller faced. If it gets close enough say, $190M by the Oscars, and wins Best Animated Feature if the voters actually watch the films this time, Sony can do a rexpansion, March 1st-3rd in say 1,500-1,800 theaters and try to get it there but that’s a wild guess at this point.
  3. Overseas wise only, admittedly my $600M-$700M OS is a bit too optimistic more like $500M-$600M OS, domestically I think its a Solo waiting to happening, and a good chance at sub $200M besides I’ve been saying Aladdin was going to underperform for a while now.
  4. This^^^, it may under perform domestically (say $210M-$250M) but there’s more than enough room overseas, where I can see something like $600M-$700M. Godzilla: KOTM could work there or John Wick.
  5. My guess is the Oscars and a trailer with Captain Marvel since other than Avengers: Endgame it has no attachments. That’s sort of the problem with Disney’s marketing nowadays. They don’t have enough to market each film to the fullest potential when they put another big blockbuster every 3 weeks. It happened in 2017 with Thor, Coco and Jedi, arguably Coco paled in marketing compared to the former two and maybe would’ve done better due to circumstances (no $100M+ family film since DM3). It’s going to be especially hard in the summer season when they have to juggle Endgame, Aladdin, TS4 and TLK. One or maybe two or those films will get the short end of the stick marketing wise, and for the Aladdin and TS4, a heavily competitive family market with films like Detective Pikachu and Pets 2 (and in a lesser extent Far From Home), that’s going to hurt these films potential the most. In my eyes this year for Disney, for every overperformer, we’ll get an underperformer.
  6. Or maybe Captain Marvel, as it can be one of the attachments to the film since Far From Home doesn’t count.
  7. I feel the opposite especially with the strong family competition. Also cute tv spot.
  8. @cayommagazine Dua Lipa to perform a cover of “I Need a Hero” which will play during Blue and Gold: Black II The Future.
  9. Call me crazy but if Lego 2 underperforms, I can see a strong chance this does a $60M OW, presales and reviews have been good, the sneak previews are encouraging and Universal has done good marketing this.
  10. Attached to Green Lantern Corps: Rise Of The Manhunters
  11. It wasn’t to compete with Netflix, Disney along with Warner Bros and Universal for that matter, would’ve likely been fine regardless, they did this to have a bigger imprint in the theatrical market space and to choke out other studio competition.
  12. Considering @DAJK works/worked at a theater and has many times told us about the strongarming techniques Disney has used to screw over theaters, and will likely increase due to the merger. It’d hurt the smaller theaters more even with the rise of streaming. Disney didn’t do this to avoid being bought out by Amazon or Netflix (in fact they tried to buy out the latter), they did this for market power and their streaming service. I’m not denying that fewer people go to the movies or the fact that Disney provides the consumers what they want (hell apart from the majority of the live action remakes, I like Disney’s movies) Now Enough talk about this and more talk about New Mutants, we’ve all derailed the thread.
  13. Seems about right total wise, though legs are a bit wonky as the OW imho would be around $65M-$70M. Shazam may hurt it’s second weekend and a 3x multiple is around what Disney live action remakes (barring Jungle Book) is the normal range.
