  1. I’m thinking 8 -8.5 Wednesday. Weekdays haven’t been that strong. Maybe it can recover on the weekend.
  2. Jesus, would be crazy to a sequel drop 250m from the 1st one.
  3. Happy Wakanda Forever performed well this weekend. Interested to see it’s legs now. 41m Sunday is great, far from the 60m of the 1st one though. However it just reminds you how amazing the performance the 1st film was, it was very exciting at the time. Wakanda Forever won’t come close to that but that 1st film was just lightning in a bottle.
  4. It’s a tough one to predict. If it is well received I could see it leg it to just over 300m, like a Thor: Ragnarok situation. However Ant Man and The Wasp came out between Infinity War and Endgame and only managed 220m. We’ll see what happens. Hopefully Kang can build the hype.
  5. The soundtrack is getting some traction after the movies release. Lift Me Up by Rihanna is climbing a bit. A song called Con La Brisa is getting the most views on YouTube. That song is beautiful.
  6. In terms of an MCU standard, Angela is really good here. She has some really strong scenes. However I don’t see any Oscars for her here, it’s rare for superhero films to get acting noms anyway.
  7. I think some issues with the pacing and how long the movie is might not be good for legs. We’ll see though. Also seems a more somber movie overall, might effect rewatch ability for some hardcore Marvel fans.
  8. Rotten Tomatoes critic scores have stabilised a bit, might stay in the 80s. Audience scores seem decent enough so far, early to tell. Generally seems good, some people disappointed. However seems this movie is really emotional and that seems to be working for people.
  9. Yeah true. I think that’s mostly down to a poor output and prob a bit of superhero fatigue though. They are still a massive brand. They will never really go away, just not reach the heights of Endgame.
  10. Would be decent for an Ant Man film but maybe not for something setting up Marvels next big event. Also want to see how critics respond to this one.
  11. Trailer views for this are decent. However they are fairly poor compared to Doctor Strange 2, Thor 4 and Wakanda Forever. Not sure what to expect numbers wise for this one. Maybe 450 - 500m WW total without China and Russia?
  12. Overseas is fine imo apart from the drop in Korea. The 1st one released 3 months before Infinity War and it wasn’t really a breakout hit in most countries. Without China and Russia too, what were we expecting overseas here? The domestic gross is the one to watch. I think a big drop is expected here too, which shouldn’t be surprising especially without its big star, reviews aren’t as strong and it’s a sequel.
  13. The thing is with this movie, even though it wasn’t a smash hit, doesn’t seem like it really did a lot of damage either. They can easily rework the Black Adam character a little and then put him into an ensemble. The Rock fighting around with other DC heroes will probably get people more excited, he’s still a popular figure who can attract audiences.
  14. Maybe sales aren’t really kicking into gear because the last two MCU (Multiverse of Madness and Thor 4) were a bit underwhelming. Audiences are more cautious. Maybe it’s MCU fatigue or sometimes sequels just drop. The 1st one was such a cultural phenomenon you can’t really recreate that.
  15. Rotten Tomato scores always fall after initial reaction especially with superhero films. I was reading the negatives and the general opinion is that the film is a big disappointment compared to the first one and the film being way too long. Also seems Rachel Morrison was a big miss here from a visual standpoint at least. Reading the Variety article today, I’m surprised this film come together as it did. Maybe Marvel shouldn’t have really rushed into a sequel here.
  16. The reactions in S.Korea aren’t encouraging. Imo Marvel can’t take another hit. Three big event films this year and they all have come under expectations. If Quantumania flops, then I don’t know. The narrative around the MCU is starting to change.
  17. Seems like these days he’s more worried about getting the movies/tv out there then giving them a little more time to cook. I honestly don’t know what’s going on over there, maybe it was Covid that had a big affect on productions?! Feige and co being spread too thin? It’s hard to say
  18. I mean with the increase in output you’d expect a bit more crossover but that’s just me. I don’t mind build up but hopefully it’s all worth it with Secret Wars
