  1. I feel like the reviews and reactions will make or break this one. It feels like the lead up to Eternals before the reviews just killed all the hype. Venom (even with bad reviews) felt a bit more anticipated than this. However the Rock can bring in audiences. I’m excited to see how this film performs though. It will be an interesting one to follow.
  2. I was looking at all the SDCC videos from the weekend and just thought it was weird that the Rock did not promote this at Comic Con. Like the film comes out this week, he could have done a little something lol.
  3. God that is very disappointing for Thor. Seems the word of mouth is bad. Marvel need to step up.
  4. After Shang Chi, we got rumours off a trade that a sequel was in development and potential spin off series. It has been 8 months since Eternals came out and nothing, no real rumours and the cast & crew involved have said nothing. If something does happen with Eternals, I expect a soft reboot is happening.
  5. Just feels there is a lack of engagement with the most recent Marvel properties. I feel after Eternals, Strange and Thor have really made fans feel less excited about the future. Marvel needs to recover with a genuine hit, the fans will just fall away and that base is so important to any franchise.
  6. Honestly Thor: Love and Thunder should have been a home run but I was not expecting this reaction at all. B+ cinemascore? This will effect the brand for a while. Two of their biggest films after Endgame being disappointments. Need to recover Feige.
  7. Just read a review that said: ’It exists because it has to’. This is it exactly what I’m thinking with Marvel Studios. It’s like their running on auto pilot, more focused on making ‘content’ than actually pushing themselves to make them interesting. They just think people will eat up anything they release now but I think the tide is turning.
  8. Especially with Strange, Wanda and Thor of all characters. Arguable the most popular characters after the Infinity Saga and now their part of these films. Can’t be good for the Marvel brand.
  9. This film definitely needed more Gorr. His story sort of felt second fiddle unfortunately. Christian Bale was giving everything with the little we had to do. We needed to see him kill more Gods. We should have showed up in the City of Gods scene. Also even though I liked Jane’s story. I feel it could have been that even more powerful and give this film a little more purpose. It’s just seems the film had so many GOOD ideas that don’t really live to it’s potential. Like this film being under two hours is ridiculous, it had so much more story to tell.
  10. If the MCU fades off in South Korea after losing the likes of China, future MCU releases are in for a tough time.
  11. Jesus is the MCU/ South Korea love story fading after all the poor releases? Seems like it…
  12. Honestly expecting maybe a A-/ B+ CinemaScore for this one. I know audiences are looking for a good time but there is difference between a fun messy comedy and just outright bad comedy. Thor 4 falls into the latter.
  13. Honestly what is Marvel Studios at. This movie… I’m not even sure they are watching their films and tv shows before putting it out. The drop in quality from Endgame has been staggering. Just awful. Maybe after seeing Top Gun: Maverick and EEAAO you realise that Marvel is now making sub standard, half arsed shit that they expect the audience to eat up because it has cameos and colours. Feige come on. I’m so disappointed.
  14. Is Thor 4 getting a Chinese release? Is Marvel actually banned for life in China? I know people have their opinions about China but seeing MCU banned forever is a bit sad. Following the MCU success in China was fun.
  15. Yes. All this. ‘Oh look at our little grounded martial arts movie! This is actually great!’ ‘Now we want a SOUL SUCKING DRAGON! BAD GREEN SCREEN! ANOTHER DRAGON! BAD CG! BIG LIONS! A MASSIVE TSUNAMI! More more MORE!’
  16. Omg this post is amazing. The last line is exactly what it is. The lack of quality in Phase 4 is surprising.
  17. I mean in a sense that the MCU will face a downward trajectory if the output is mediocre. It’s natural. Obviously Marvel Studios are still mega successful with a big fan base to help but they won’t continue to be if people are not excited by their upcoming projects.
  18. If this movie doesn’t bang, the MCU will be in trouble. Next up The Marvels, Ant Man and Guardians 3. Could see some potentially disappointing numbers for these ones if the MCU continues on this trajectory.
  19. Marvel Studios had an amazing ten year run that concluded with Endgame. To double down on making MCU content after Endgame just feels like a cash grab especially when a lot of the output is mediocre. Everyone is saying quantity over quality and that is correct. Also regarding box office, Marvel losing China is still a massive blow imo. I know they shouldn’t cater to China but them billion dollar movies and 2 billion dollar Avengers movies will be a bit harder to come by.
  20. Letting it go? You started it lol? It’s part of MCU and Tom Holland has always been MCU Spider-Man. That’s all I’m saying. Saying it’s not an MCU movie is a bit ridiculous.
  21. I’m admitting I like the characters but I don’t care where the MCU is going because there is no plan and nearly all of the output is mediocre.
  22. Sorry but you’re talking crap, not calling it an MCU movie is ridiculous. Its set in the MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE. Even if is was funded by Warner Bros or Paramount, it’s an MCU film made with the involvement of Marvel Studios.
  23. I think some of the characters are compelling though like Shang Chi, Makkari, Kate Bishop and Moon Knight but they feel so disconnected from the MCU that I don’t really care and have no idea where they will show up next aside from their inevitable individual sequel movies.
