I mean if it's effective sure. Nolan was dark and gloomy but effective. Snyder was gloomy, dark, messy, ineffective, boring, and scattered.
Anyways I'm glad he is not a part of those. DC will flourish without him.
Yeah I'm not thrilled about that but at least it will be done well. Gloomy, boring, and badly directed don't mix well. Also BVS was gloomy in a different way.
If CM ends up with nearly 50 million more than BP that would actually be pretty decent. Sure not amazing like Aquaman or a miracle like the flaming dumpster fire of Venom but decent.
Considering Synder is not involved in this movie and it apparently is not gloomy and depressing I imagine it will be a big hit. Hopefully they continue the trend of doing films the opposite of what he did.
Yeah that list is wrong. BP was fully introduced in Civil War. Avengers is far from first entry.
So it's the highest brand new no introduction solo movie. Being #1 the multiplier makes sense.
I just watched that for the 2nd time as well (netflix UK added them). Ultron is so damn good but there are still several issues I have with that film. I like it but still wish it was better.
I'd say it's pretty silly to say it doesn't hit 400 million. Sure I guess it's possible but good chance it's at 350+ by end of next week. Still has an entire month before End Game and it's drops are going to be super soft the week before, during and probably week after.
Also I think CM beats GOTG on every day this week except Monday and Sunday.
Every single critic is biased, just some more than others. Films like CM have extremely biased reviews on both sides. Aquaman had the same issue.
This movie isn't going to win an Oscar yet it's getting incredibly high reviews with near universal praise even from tough critics. Enjoy the ride, it's going to do great.
Aquaman still would have been a great success even without inflated OS values. People cling to the 1 billion value but it doesn't matter. Had it been released 5 years earlier and did 800+ million that still would have been amazing.
I see why we have a fan wars thread. Trolls need somewhere to go. I'm glad Aquaman killed it, really happy CM is doing so well and I hope Shazam crushes expectations
Absolutely agree that earning 1 billion 10 years ago was way harder.
Average ticket price in US is up 30% in 10 years.
Nah. BP, Civil War, Avengers, Iron Man, Infinity War, GOTG, Winter Solider, and maybe a couple others are ahead for me. Best case scenario is 8th, worst is 11th. Still much higher than I had it before. Let's just say 10th and CM 11th haha. CM rewatch may change it but probably not.
I saw that. I'm moving from the UK to Washington, definitely getting Alist for myself. One classic and one AMC dine both about 20 mins away from where I plan on living.
I hope more follow out. Sinemia and Movie Pass actually dying would help force them to do it.
