Good number for BatB. It'll be at around $407M domestic going into the weekend and should come out of it at just over $430M. I hope it shows stellar holds next week Monday to Thursday because after that it will be all about F8.

Thanks baumer! Coming from someone who hasn't read the book yet, this is a really good idea. It also gives those who HAVE a chance to talk about it (heh). I imagine it would be frustrating for me not to be able to discuss an upcoming film based on a book I've already read.

Generic family movies make all the money? Well no shit Sherlock! It's just simple logic and math. A movie like Finding Dory, Beauty and the BEAST or a Star Wars/Avengers movie hits all 4 quadrants. Logically, it's going to make a lot of money because the audience size is huge. You can't expect a movie like Hell or High Water to be a huge blockbuster. This isn't about one kind of movie succeeding or being preferred over the other. It's simply about the size of the audience.

These movies are guilty fun. I know they're kind of stupid, but I don't care. They pull it off. I've got my ticket for opening night already and I can't wait! I actually didn't care about the franchise at all at first. Like most of the GA, I got into it after F5 when the franchise became more of a story arc, mission based series of movies, rather than rad hoodlums race cars and get girls. It's like, despite the fact it's gotten more over the top with each movie, I take it more seriously. It's all about those story arcs. They get you invested.

I don't know, I'm still trying to figure overseas box office out.

The overseas gross this weekend for BatB was a bit lower than I thought it would be. I was thinking $80M- $90M.

Using HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2 as a comparison, I'm going to say THE BOSS BABY opens with about $52M. Going with $47.3M for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Looks like Beauty is about to be dethroned. Thought for sure it would be #1 for 3 straight weekends. EDIT: Completely forgot about HOME as a comparison. That's probably a much better one. Based on that, I've got $47.4M for THE BOSS BABY. If that pans out, TBB and BatB will truly be neck and neck for the weekend title.
