  1. So, $10,905,961 for BatB on Thursday. A TJB like increase (+194%) today would give it just over $32M. Anyone see that happening?
  2. Agreed! I'm usually a full on trailers and clips person but I've watched one trailer for this and that's it. I want this movie to be a fresh experience. Having said that, I know most of the responsibility falls on my shoulders though. We have to be equally as careful to AVOID spoilers as those who've seen it have to be to give them out.
  3. I think this weekend is where the parallels to THE JUNGLE BOOK end. I mean, I guess I could see a similar 2nd weekend drop - although I'm not predicting it - but TJB dropped 29% on its 3rd weekend! There's no way that's happening with BatB. IF BatB followed TJB's pattern it would have a 2nd weekend of about $104.15M. A similar 3rd weekend drop based on that would give BatB an astounding $73.95M over the March 31-April 2nd frame. That's not happening.
  4. Anywhere between $10.4M and $11M is my guess.
  5. This is my movie of choice for this coming weekend. No interest in POWER RANGERS or CHiPs.
  6. I thought this too. It's hard to say because I can equally see both scenarios (either $12M+ or around $11.5M). I guess at the end of the day between $11.5M and $12M is a pretty safe bet.
  7. A drop like THE JUNGLE BOOK would give BatB around $11.7M tomorrow. I'm thinking it'll drop a little lighter than that so, yeah, we should see in the vicinity of $12M.
  8. This has had a pretty good run at my theatre. Lasted longer than the likes of Monster Trucks, The Bye Bye Man and Rings.
  9. It'll be higher than that. Look for a yuuuge Tuesday jump.
  10. Interesting. Yet another thing that links BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and THE JUNGLE BOOK. Aside from the Friday to Saturday increase, these films are performing very similar so far.
  11. How can someone watch a movie like BatB and call it "soulless"? Talk about irony.... You can stop with the ridiculous hyperbole man. We get the message.
  12. That's exactly what he's saying....
  13. Not what a lot of us expected, but it's a drop along the lines of THE JUNGLE BOOK on its first Monday. A little softer.
  14. Yes, but at the very least Paramount is building a universe around films that are already proven to be big money blockbusters, the last two having made $1B+ WW. Even if they're not great movies, Paramount is justified in that venture.
  15. Yeah, I remember reading about that around the time of SPECTRE's release. I wonder how that's coming along, especially given recent reports that Craig is reconsidering coming back to do Bond again.
  16. I'm a huge Marvel and DC fan and I'd love it! The box office record lists need some fresh blood, not just Star Wars and superheroes.
  17. Why would Disney go out of their way NOT to make Ariel's hair red? There comes a point when it's just change for the sake of change. Like, why bother adapting something if you're not going to get certain distinctive details like that right? Not like she's the recognizable main character or anything...
  18. Exactly. I don't care if anyone doesn't like BatB. It's not like I'm all Gung ho about the movie myself. I just feel like some people take this stuff so seriously that they criticize the studios and actually forget that this is all a business at the end of the day. They're there to make money and, sorry to say, movies like BatB make a lot of that!
  19. Why is it so difficult for some people to understand that this is exactly what the audience wanted to see? A live action to-a-T re-telling of one of the most beloved fairy tales of all time! It is exactly what it is supposed to be and that's why the people are loving it and it's making so much money. I'm honestly getting tired of people complaining about franchises and adaptations and stuff. This is a BUSINESS guys! You give the market what it wants and if there's one thing the market has been telling us loud and clear lately, it that people, namely the millennial demographic, want to see all their beloved properties on screen. It has nothing to do with Hollywood lacking originality. It has everything to do with what the market wants.
  20. Just got my ticket. Looks like I'm the first one to do so for that particular show.
