  1. ?? I was referring to SS 2, not Batman.
  2. I can dig that. August ain't bad either for it though.
  3. Warner Bros. should seriously consider releasing their new Batman films on the first weekend of October. They would dominate the month!
  4. Gotta love how real he is! Real and uncomplicated and non-divisive, without any agenda. I love Sam too!
  5. Finally! And with that, more and more teasers for January films kicking off 2020 are trickling in.
  6. Lol, if it were any other movie with that CGI @IronJimbo and Co.would be all over it. Even with Linda, Arnold and James involved this doesnt feel like it's anything close to the original Terminator films. They needed to make it look as practical as possible to at least try to match the feel of the originals.
  7. Got another trip to the theatre planned with my nephew to see this. He's excited for it because he's getting all geared up for Halloween! Hoping kids and families love it and it's a small hit.
  8. Anyone seeing this opening weekend? It has my attention. I'm mainly going hoping for a return of a great Will Smith performance, not all the bells and whistles and tech.
  9. Still haven't been out to see this. I've heard from several folks it's a slog of a film though so my expectations are tempered a bit.
  10. Yeah. All in all I'd say this is having a pretty uneventful and expected run worldwide. I guess I expected a better 3rd weekend drop than 58.1% but that's about it. I don't think I'll get around to seeing it after all but I've heard good things from those who've seen it so I'll definitely check it out on streaming.
  11. And a pretty healthy 42.2% 2nd weekend drop for $11.9M. Where do you all think this is heading for domestic total?
  12. Great Saturday and Sunday for Joker! Very pleasantly surprised after a more muted opening day than I had expected. Still wish it got over $100M though. All these $90M+ weekends this year are annoying me. I have no idea why.
  13. Joker ...oh man. I need time. Very good, but (does this even need to be said??) you don't come out of it feeling very good. I'll say this: while I still feel that the concern trolling and fear mongering about violence as a result of this movie is just that, after watching it I kind of get why some are concerned. It likely hits home for a lot of people. The fact that many people can relate to Arthur Fleck is scary and depressing. This is something my girlfriend said after coming out of rut he movie. She said she felt sick to her stomach and depressed because she couldn't help but sympathize indeed with the central character. Nobody wants to feel that way about a psychotic killer. The film is emotionally manipulative in that way. It's a masterpiece in filmmaking. It's a film that makes you think and feel so many different things. That's why I need time.
  14. This is a great idea! I'd be on board. Question for you: what do you think of the new Batman movie(s) being part of the "DC Black label"? I doubt WB would do it, as Batman is one of their cash cows and they'd want to make the movies as accessible as possible, but as we all know Batman more than any other major comic character lends himself well to that kind of tone. I also desperately want Reeves' Batman to be connected to Joker, even if the characters obviously never cross paths. I like the idea of Fleck's Joker being the original inspiration for another Joker who goes on to become Batman's foil.
  15. Which means we should be getting a trailer fairly soon. Though it could be awhile yet. A decent comparable would be The Fate of the Furious. That released on April 14, 2017 and we didn't get the first teaser until December 11, 2016. I guess that would make a lot of sense too, releasing the first teaser for Bond with Star Wars in December.
  16. This film's message is so, so relevant right now, which is probably exactly why Clint made it. I despise the "trial by media" that often happens. I'll be seeing this for sure.
  17. Judy is going wide this weekend so it should somewhat play the counter-programming role. However, like you said, another new wide release could have easily been there.
  18. Won't be as accessible for teen audiences then. I wonder if the opening will be a little softer, like just under $20M...
