  1. If this has a good box office run and JLo gets serious Oscar consideration, it'll be one of the top film stories of the year! I have to say I'm actually looking forward to seeing it this weekend.
  2. This is good to hear. I haven't seen the show either but have been meaning to binge it whenever I have a big block of time. The film, if I make it out to see it, but me a good intro.
  3. Yeah, I figured this would be another one of those sequels nobody asked for and get completely rejected and forgotten. Maybe people have Stallone's Rocky swan song in mind and are thinking it'll be the same kind of feeling here.
  4. Nice. @Porthos @captainwondyful @VenomXXR @Menor and all the others: Any of you planning on tracking this or nah?
  5. Estimates were bang on. Great opening weekend for a horror and September release, but definitely a little disappointing coming off the $123.4M opening of the first one. Hopefully this at least has good legs.
  6. One of the reasons I believe franchises are now bigger than ever. Escapism. So many people need it, even if they don't realize it. The filmmakers aren't trying to lecture you, they're just telling fun stories about awesome characters. This particular film looks like a ton of fun. Unfortunately it looks like Rian Johnson is trying to lecture us about why we should hang our heads in shame and apologize for being white, (North) American and living a good life.
  7. Welcome to the MCU fan club, @WrathOfHan! You can't avoid it now!
  8. Yeah I forgot that option. I did mean to put that as well. What an epic weekend that would be! I would hope that somehow both would co-exist and reach their potential on OW. It's not impossible. It just means everyone would have to decide to see both movies that weekend. However I doubt it would happen. For most people two movies in a weekend is too much.
  9. Don't know where else to post this for something so far in advance so just posting here: Who blinks first when it comes to that loaded 12/16/22 date? Disney (Untitled Star Wars) or Warner Bros. (Aquaman 2)?
  10. Oh yeah, I would be in for CA all the way. Still haven't decided on DF. I'm interested in seeing how the marketing is.
  11. Cool club, but I'm out. I think Dark Fate will have enough believers to power a healthy OW.
  12. Renee Zellweger looks fantastic in this! Hopefully it debuts strong enough on the 27th and goes wide with Joker on October 4.
  13. I worry about this one. It's hard to judge buzz when it comes to a kids/family movie (ie. this is the kind of movie parents will take their kids to spur of the moment/nobody really talks online about) but it doesn't feel like it's offering anything special. Sure, the only animated film we've gotten recently is The Angry Birds Movie 2, and the next one is Frozen II which doesn't release until November 22, but I don't give that too much weight. Parents have other options nowadays if they're dying to take their kids out to be entertained. We'll see I guess. @TwoMisfits do you want to chime in here? Is this on your family's radar at all?
  14. I may end up watching this for some cool Stallone action sequences but I dunno....not much going for this movie. Under $10M OW?
  15. That really is glorious! Wish my theatre was decked out like that. At least I got a cool cup and Pennwise head shaped mug at mine.
  16. Does anyone expect any buzzy performances from this film or will it be a complete afterthought?
  17. Nice! This movie is becoming quite the story. Hopefully this opens to $30M+, It Chapter Two holds well and we get a pretty damn solid weekend.
  18. Aaaanyway, I was hoping there'd be more buzz for this. Guess that's what happens with a movie that's been delayed a couple times. Still looks really good though. It'll likely be the last film I see in theatres until Joker.
  19. I wonder if this is going to become a pattern. WB seems to be putting out their best offerings during the second half of the year. I'm thinking they've realized that they'd rather not fight with all the other studios over the summer slots and use the fall as their personal playground.
