  1. You know about as much as everyone else on here. Unless there’s a Disney or Fox insider lurking on the forums that wants to provide insight.
  2. It’s not his political leanings that has me opposed to him being CEO. His business career doesn’t really inspire confidence, especially if Disney is trying to find someone who can continue or surpass Iger’s legacy.
  3. Uhh...he would be a terrible candidate. Either that or he’d be a puppet for his father. His career history as an executive doesn’t give me much hope for his possible tenure as the Disney CEO (or CEO of any company). That said, I don’t see this happening. But it does seem like Disney is more interested in finding an outside candidate than promoting one in-house.
  4. That’s for next Tuesday. T-Mobile has no movie deal this week. Atom does have a BOGO free deal for Ferdinand.
  5. Of course. I get that their output isn’t ideal in terms of variety for audiences or ‘riskiness’, but going into hyperbole about their content isn’t the way to present the argument against them. I’m not really for or against the deal. While I like most of the MCU movies and Deadpool, I’d rather they not get mixed up in the same universe. I don’t care enough about what happens X-men and F4 to be supportive of the deal either.
  6. They haven’t? Queen of Katwe is a blockbuster? The BFG? The Finest Hours, Into the Woods, Saving Mr. Banks? I get that these are a small amount compared to their other movies and may not have appealed to you, but it’s incorrect to state that they haven’t made anything but blockbusters recently.
  7. Loved this show...I think I watched it in a week lol. It’d be great if they cast him as Shang. Despite not being a box office draw, I think he has great presence and is a strong actor.
  8. But what if it doesn’t happen? Were Disney’s other deals for Pixar, Marvel, and LucasFilms this publicized prior to them announcing it? I’ve never really paid attention to something like this, but it just seems like a lot of noise with very little facts.
  9. It looks like this will be both too. Apparently it could be up to 25% shares in Disney.
  10. JW trailer was around 63m views the day before release. For comparison, Ultron trailer had 73m views when that movie was released.
  11. It’s always been stated that it’s a limited release short. If anyone watches Disney Channel, the short was advertised on there even more than Coco and it always mentioned that it was for a limited time. Perhaps, it was supposed to be for longer, but I doubt that. If Disney was really responding to the backlash and thought it was damaging Coco’s BO, they’d have pulled it last Friday instead of waiting several more days.
  12. 1. Star Wars: The Last Jedi 2. Black Panther 3. Incredibles 2 4. A Wrinkle in Time 5. The Shape of Water 6. Molly's Game 7. Avengers: Infinity War 8. Annihilation 9. Ant-Man and the Wasp 10. The Disaster Artist
  13. So I just finished Jurassic Park and I’m glad I finally watched it. I did have to hit pause multiple times during the last 15 min...and I screamed a few times. Some jaw dropping moments there too. I can imaging how exciting it would be watching this in a large crowd. Didn’t know Samuel L. Jackson was in this, and Newman! I also really liked the musical score. Overall I liked the movie...and I’d probably say I would’ve loved it if I watched it when I was younger. And thank goodness for T-Rex. Not sure when I’ll be able to watch the sequels or the Star Wars OT. I think A New Hope is on TV next weekend though, so I might catch it then.
  14. Will do! But I probably don’t need to watch the sequels either right? Seems like those aren’t necessary to watch before Jurassic World. Hmm...you’re the first to claim that. I’ll take your word for it.
  15. So I still haven’t seen Jurassic World (plus I’ve only seen parts of Jurassic Park)...and I kept hesitating because almost everyone here thinks it was mediocre. I’ll have to watch it eventually though...at least before the sequel is released...maybe. I’m still dragging my feet about watching the OT of Star Wars.
  16. Mary Poppins fits the December spot more imo. At this point, I’m more excited for Mary Poppins than Han Solo. Not just because it’s Mary Poppins and I think it’s due a revival/sequel, but because Disney keeps including Lin Manuel Miranda in their movies. He’s incredibly talented, has a large fanbase (Hamilton!) and I think having him in a live musical will be a big selling point.
  17. I think he means Atomic Blonde’s presales total...it opened to $18m OW.
  18. Apparently they’re outriders. Though I wonder why they’re specifically in Wakanda and not NYC. http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Outriders_(Race)
  19. Coco - 25.7% JL - 15.3% TLJ - 12.8% Wonder - 11.2% Thor - 6.2%
  20. Coco: 29.8% JL: 16.2% Wonder: 14.5% Thor: 6.5% SW: 5.8%
  21. Given that the Russos are directing Avengers 3 & 4, and that the two movies they’ve directed were among the most serious movies in the MCU, not sure there should be worry about having to tone the humor down. Though I really liked TWS, Civil War was kind of a bore, so I’m actually hoping they include some more humor in IW compared to Civil War. GotG characters Thor, and Spider-Man should help with that.
