  1. Like you mentioned, Blake is very popular amonf certain demographics and I think most people recognize her from something. I don't remember any girl in my class who didn't watch Gossip Girl. It faded towards the end, but Blake definitely went for opportunities that gave her more exposure. She also did Sisterhood of Traveling Pants, which is what I first saw her in. The only other actor from Gossip Girl that I think is deserving of a break is Leighton Meester. Her Blair Waldorf made that show, but unfortunately she ended up doing that Monte Carlo movie while Blake did The Town. And now she's on a TV show I think. Maybe that's what she prefers though...
  2. 1. Thor: Ragnarok 2. Justice League 3. Star Wars: The Last Jedi 4. Black Panther 5. Ant-Man & the Wasp 6. Avengers: Infinity War 7. The Incredibles 2 8. A Wrinkle in Time 9. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri 10. The Shape of Water
  3. Ugh. I watched it and the acting, barring a few exceptions, is atrocious. And the random flashback scenes! The preview looked better though so maybe it improves.
  4. Are people saying that? I'm assuming it's a good story/script that's getting these actors interested...
  5. Sony must have something good to get these awesome actors (Tom, Riz, Michelle) interested. At least I hoping it's good. I get that some people are apprehensive about linking/not linking this (and the other Sony movies) to the MCU, but I don't really see what the big deal is. Sony has the rights to these characters, so it's expected that they have stories they want to tell with them and want to make money too. We can't expect them to pay Marvel to do everything for them. So I'm optimistic about this movie and aside from the production delay, everything about it sounds great.
  6. I'm not sure how much RT will matter for a movie like this. Emoji Movie still did pretty well despite its score. Again, they have a built in audience for this and as long as they keep it tied with the show (which it appears Ninjago didn't really do), it should be fine. I'm not interested in it, and likely won't see it as the only kid I'm around doesn't watch/like TTG.
  7. I'd be more interested if they were making a Teen Titans movie, since I really liked that show. Clearly there's an audience for this, since it's getting a movie. Maybe it'll be better than the show.

  10. I liked the first one as well. It was very engaging and fun! I'm expecting more of the same for the Golden Circle. And the princess joke was unexpected I guess, but I didn't mind it and am fine with getting something similar for this movie.
  11. Exactly. The first one was fun but mostly forgettable outside of the church scene. If this one is similar to that, then it should be fine. It'll likely fall to the same or lower RT rating. I guess when a movie unexpectedly breaks out, people tend to give it a greater credit than it deserves and hold the sequels to ridiculous expectations.
  12. It's expected that it might not top the first movie. Adding a bunch of new characters isn't always a great way to keep things fresh. I still think it'll do well domestically, hopefully increasing from the first one and agree that it'll do much better OS with bigger action sequences.
  13. So happy about Nicole Kidman and Laura Dern winning for Big Little Lies! And it won Best Limited Series too! Well deserved wins imo. I might have to rewatch it again soon. Hopefully the second season is as good as the first.
  14. I love most superhero movies and do consider the Dark Knight my favorite superhero trilogy lol. I think there are enough comic book adaptations that people will gravitate to what they like. Fans of the MCU like their movies for what they are, as you stated. And fans of other superhero movie universes like those movies for what they are, as different as they are from the MCU. There shouldn't be one way to adapt comic books, variety is a good thing.
  15. I assumed she meant that as a joke since she has to promote Red Sparrow in a few months anyway and will likely be in Dark Phoenix. Isn't she relatively quiet when she's not shooting/promoting a movie?
  16. I'm still planning on seeing this, and I haven't read the spoilers. The divisive reactions makes me very curious about what mine will be. Hopefully I'll finally get my MoviePass card at some point so I can watch mother! before it leaves the theaters. Also surprised to learn that Drive had mismarketing/low CinemaScore. The trailers didn't seem misleading to me and I felt I got the movie I was expecting, which I loved. Hopefully mother! will be the same.
  17. There's another thread for the Disney movie. https://forums.boxofficetheory.com/topic/24739-christopher-robin-august-3-2018-disney/
  18. I didn't know this was being remade, but Kevin Hart is not who I'd expect to be cast as the caretaker. And I wonder why the release date is so far away if the movie has already been screened for critics. http://variety.com/2017/film/reviews/the-upside-review-intouchables-remake-1202552142/
  19. Oh yikes. That looks about as 'good' as the last one. And why is she still surprised about how rich he is? She married him and doesn't realize he can afford a private plane??!
  20. 44M Saturday??! Wow. WB and the filmmakers definitely made the right choice with their decisions on It. From the marketing to making this a horror film that's accessible to everyone, and not just fans of the genre/book/TV series. They deserve all the success that's coming.
  21. The projector scene was the scariest. The clown room was more creepy than scary. I kept waiting for the clowns to move and It wasn't as bad. Was peaking through my fingers for both scenes though.
