  1. Escape Plan was R-rated and opened in October last year. It did 258k in previews and 9M over the weekend. If Wick has that same preview to weekend multiplier, it could see 30M this weekend, which at first impulse may be too optimistic, but considering the reviews, why not be optimistic?
  2. Wick with 41K less than the projected weekend winner in previews? Hope that's a good sign. Escape plan did 258k and ended up opening to 9M for the weekend according to Deadline. Both opened in October, so if John Wick has a similar preview to weekend multiplier, that puts it on track for around 30M. Probably too hopeful, but considering the high marks Wick has over Escape Plan, why not hope?
  3. Neeson's classic line over the phone got a fair amount of early and frequent exposure.
  4. Here's the YouTube version of the clip I posted, for anyone who's been having problems with the version I originally posted like I have:
  5. The Keanu argument makes sense, albeit regrettably so in this instance. You might have some argue that the vengeance over a murdered dog is stupid to people, but then why would they show more interest in a schlocky ghost horror flick that's meant to be based on a board game?
  6. I forgot Taken opened a year prior in Europe. It's such a shame it's tracking to open poorly. This clip is amazing. http://www.craveonline.com/film/articles/777599-john-wick-exclusive-face-shooting-clip-interview
  7. I can't recall. Was the first Taken tracking to open as well as it did? I seem to recall that film about a middle-aged one man army that was acquired by a studio and not produced, originally meant to go DTV.
  8. Between this and Man of Tai Chi, he seems more intent to make his own destiny in Hollywood.
  9. If Friday doesn't come sooner, I'm gonna end up killing three random guys with a pencil.
  10. The director wanted it to be the first one, but he had a shoestring budget.
  11. I'd argue John Wick has the 'fun movie' factor that gives it an edge over those movies.
  12. The dog motivation is actually perfect because if he reacts this way over a dog, imagine if it had been his wife and/or child.
  13. What if somebody broke into your house and killed your dog just for sport and left you alive to wallow over how someone would ever do something that cruel?
  14. And the more your audience will root for the owner of that cute animal that was killed.
  15. "I'm not afraid of John Wick." "I once saw him kill three men... with a pencil." YEAHH!! "People keep asking if I'm back. Yeah, I'm thinking I'm back!" A wink to us perchance?
  16. The dog was a final gift from his dying wife. You don't kill a man's dog. That's all he had left. Gotta say, these positive reviews have me interested.
  17. More ‘Spider-Man’ Rumors: ‘Sinister Six’ To Reboot Franchise, ‘Venom’ Dead That's a bit of a shame. I say a bit because I have no faith in Kurtzman, but would have liked to see a Flash Thompson/Agent Venom film where he went up against Carnage.
  18. "I didn't smack you when you said "knocking boots", but "bone bros"? I will not abide."
  19. Well, it is nice that you've now acknowledged Alexandra Daddario as a gawdesk, but Kristen Stewart at number 3? You're probably the only one who'd rank her that high in this department. Also I don't even know who those last two are.
  20. Not to mention a lack of Rose Byrne after continually flaunting her gawdesk status for months after Neighbors opened.
  21. I know this is off topic, but I'd like your attention to the Favorite Things board where I've been asking you about your gawdesks.
  22. You don't have to *only* appear in Sandler/Happy Madison films to be considered one of his cronies. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't consider Kevin James to be one of his cronies. Most of what Kevin James appears in is Happy Madison stuff these days. Here Comes the Boom was Happy Madison as well.
