  1. I'd like to move the focus away from people in distress. No more people needing rescue. I want to see a protagonist who is out for vengeance like Frank Grillo's character, but he doesn't stop to help anyone unless he's purging on someone who is attempting to purge on someone else, and then tells that someone else to leave.
  2. Jet Li was the Chuck Norris of this movie, just had him use a gun without making use of his martial arts.
  3. These films were made primarily for the nostalgia and the problem is they never truly felt like they were growing with each installment and franchise movies should. Jason Statham in particular fits better in the Fast and Furious movies and he seemed ready to move into that universe, provided they had plans to keep him on for more than one movie, but now the future of that franchise is uncertain for obvious reasons.
  4. Pre-release audience surveys suggest a low 20s debut. And those surveys are taken from the demo that EX3 caters to. It doesn't have the family demo.
  5. It doesn't surprise me that it's tracking lower. It lost the older nostalgic crowd when they announced later in the game they were going for the PG-13 when this franchise needed to be hard R complete with loads of graphic violence and profanity. Additionally, the younger crowd isn't into the older action heroes while the younger ones are people they don't care about.
  6. Actually GOTG had a bigger Tuesday bump and it ended up dropping less than TMNT on Wednesday.
  7. Guardians is already outpacing Winter Soldier.Plus, I don't see EX3 taking much business away from Guardians. Less buzz than the first two plus the PG-13 rating pushing away those who were hoping for an R and younger audiences not caring much for the older action types.
  8. I'm at least happy Guardians will be the highest grossing movie of the summer.
  9. How do you know it *is* and not *was* more popular?
  10. The time gaps are smaller. For James Bond, for MCU, for Hunger Games. Hence, Star Wars is more yesteryear.Remember we had some thinking STID would outdo IM3 at the box office? The previous Star Trek movie was 4 years prior, the previous IM movie was three years prior, and the previous IM appearance was in TA one year prior. Iron Man was more fresh in people's minds hence people took more notice of that over Star Trek.
  11. The point is Quantum was released closer to Skyfall than EP III was to EP VII.
  12. James Bond is not a good comparison because they've continued to release new Bond films to keep audience attention. And Godzilla did less than what Cap did and what Guardians is going to do.
  13. The point is there *are* people like that out there. Also, the ones really excited for it are mainly the diehards. The GA focuses more on what's popular these days, such as MCU and Hunger Games. Star Wars is more yesteryear than either of those.
  14. From my personal experience, I've heard some people say they don't care about an EP VII because liking the prequels less over time.
  15. But how much GA will care enough about EP VII that it could challenge Avengers 2?Aren't there also plenty of people who feel an EP VII is a bit unnecessary because EP VI felt like a true ending to the saga?
  16. It's been nine years and opinions of the movies have changed.
  17. It's coming off the badwill of the prequel trilogy. Don't see why that's not a good reason to undershoot it.
  18. Connors never took Peter's blood. He injected himself with his own developed lizard based serum.
  19. Then again, if Sony aimed to make a separate Spider-Man that was allegedly more faithful to the character as fans insist, then perhaps the problem was with the source material. Of course, the MCU doesn't directly adapt 100% from book to screen as Iron Man 3 can attest to.
  20. It really depends on what kind of film it is whether it would look good on film or digital. It's about visual aesthetic. The digital camerawork did not fit movies like Public Enemies or Gangster Squad at all. Some directors and camera operators just don't know how to utilize the digital camera. Some sacrifice practical lighting for that shutter option digital cameras have which makes it look grainy and ugly.
  21. Not that much better. How would that have worked anyway?
  22. Sorry, but I don't want my heart covered in layers of cheese.
