  1. Not to mention, excluding previews, that's higher than HB2.
  2. Or could have been no one truly gave a damn in the first place. Or could be the East Coast snow deflated yesterday's numbers.
  3. Why is it surprising? Because it's a Wednesday? If it were a Friday, "early" numbers would have come out by 5 or 6 EST, sometimes as early as 3 or 4. But it's currently past 10 EST at the start of what is essentially a weekend, so this is not ridiculously early.
  4. Someone also suggested Anchorman 2: 2.3M preview, 39M 5-day
  5. They have the same target audience (college students) and a lot of them have off. Wednesday numbers will be deflated a bit by East Coast snow, though.
  6. 60M is way too high. I'm thinking mid-30s.
  7. We're the Millers opened on a Wednesday with 1.7M in previews.
  8. Where was the com part in rom com in Twilight? Unless you're considering unintentional humor as actual comedy.
  9. The red hair is the only reason people want Chastain for Medusa instead of Captain Marvel. Chastain wants to do a superhero movie sooner and Captain Marvel comes before Inhumans and is the singular lead superhero in that movie.
  10. How does this compare with the movie? It almost seems like people would rather watch the movie again based on these opinions.
  11. Not really. The films have to be successes, too. But it's an absolute pity she's labeled as that actress who's the best part of mediocre to bad films and TV shows. She deserves so much better and needs to fire her agent.
  12. That's because he's actually less than 4 years *older* than Keanu.
  13. Most likely. But there's the small chance of it being PG due to Sandler's insistence on targeting the family audience.
  14. I do recall him stating he disliked the dog motivation.
  15. I suppose I should have said 'trivia bit'.
  16. ‘True Detective': Kelly Reilly, Michael Irby, Abigail Spencer, Leven Rambin Eye Roles Fun Fact #1: This leads to three reunions from previous projects: Vaughn and McAdams from Wedding Crashers, McAdams and Reilly from the Sherlock Holmes movies, and Spencer and Rambin from Chasing Mavericks. Fun Fact #2: Spencer and Rambin were featured in The Fappening. Fun Fact #3: Rambin once costarred in Percy Jackson 2 with Alexandra Daddario, who was featured in Season 1 having what we now love her for, so might Rambin be following suit?
  17. Assuming that it does get good WOM. There's a chance that it could be better than the average Sandler flick based on concept and other people involved. But at the end of the day, it's a Happy Madison production, which means he and his team of writers got their crummy paws on the script to alter it to suit his tastes. And audiences hate it when intriguing concepts are butchered in execution. Plus Sandler's name isn't enough to guarantee massive success anymore, least not domestically as Blended proved. Other cast members outside of Sandler should draw some curiosity. Game of Thrones fans would take notice of Tyrion Lannister and Ned Stark together in a film, Brian Cox is a fan favorite, and Josh Gad has a bit of an audience, though I can't quite gauge if that last bit is enough or if people will take notice of him as one of the voices in Frozen.
  18. Another amusing detail. A lot of action movies feature a hero getting wounded in an action sequence midway through the movie and somehow manages to function normally during the climax. They've given us the answer in the form of a special pill: "Your stitches will tear, and you'll bleed, but you'll have full function." Also they mostly avoid featuring too many aimless shooters exchanging a barrage of missing bullets despite being in the wide open. This movie demonstrates how we want to see our hero dispatch bad guys: a quick single aimed shot to the head.
  19. You see Baumer? John Wick deserved priority over Ouija.
  20. Now I'm reading the budget was 5.5m. Don't know if that's legit. Either way, that's probably different from the acquisition cost which is Lionsgate's threshold for profit in this case.
