    FFH is very consistent now in having its daily PS concentrated a bit more in the later hours than CM. No clue why, but this is why I’ll be happier when I have more than one set of historical data. Solid day.

    420 sounds about right for ROW. Unless Japan can deliver even more Aladdin has a great chance to be the highest grossing film to miss 1B 😛

    TS5 will happen for sure and break 1B easily. A small minority will moan and whine about Hollywood going bankrupt of ideas or whatever, but it’ll be a great movie that is enjoyed by the huge majority of those who watch it.

    CM PS were great, FFH was going to fall behind sometime. Sat bump was meh though, still wondering if IWD played some role there. FFH seems headed for about 17.2 today, might be final OD PS of O/U 50. Edit: Seems to be a recurring thing now where FFH middle of day hours improve from morning. Maybe more like 17.6.

    Tuesday is biggest for normal release schedule because it let’s you see the movie 5 days after open for cheaper. FFH OD won’t have the Tuesday discount on most places, and waiting 8 days to prebuy the 2nd Tuesday would be pretty strange, so I don’t think this should be a big issue. It’s yet more volatility at the margins, I suppose.

    If the “Suicide Squad to finish main filming in Jan” timeline is correct, when could we see this movie? 2021 seems pretty plausible to my novice eyes, in which case this could be included in the SDCC/D23 release dates.

    Tl;dr Summer Tuesday (no-previews) release extremely messes with all comps. I think comparing to CM and AM&TW can give a limited insight for OD, and I doubt Pulse has much value for WThFSS (until 0-1 days before). Some people are speculating optimistically, some people are speculating pessimistically. It will be interesting to see who ends up closer in the end, but personally I’m pretty much just deploying “wait and see” mode here. Now TLK at least has a nice normal Fri opening. Very curious how the first day goes, though I don’t think I have any club statuses contingent on it.

    I’d take the under on ¥600, just crossing fingers for much better reception than first. Also I’m seeing a daily gain more in the ballpark of 2.4-2.5 atm

    Dory sequel would really be stretching creatively. I3 has potential to be the first Pixar over I2 with a decent wait period+good script.
