    I2 was incredibly anticipated for years before it was announced, in a way that TS4 just wasn’t. I don’t think a single person was thinking about the animation record before that first day of presales, so if it ends up in 2nd or 3rd place that’s still great.

    Last Tuesday Parasite was more than 4x Aladdin, now it’s 1.5x. Very excited for upcoming weekend here.

    The geometric mean of Avatar and TFA DOM is 844.00M. I would be happy for Endgame to land anywhere over that, which would mean being closer to TFA than Avatar — but I think it would require at least regaining some IMAX over Labor Day.

    2/3 of Pets would be an absolute win, but it will likely be significantly more PS heavy. The Aladdin to TS4 corridor turned from “a variety of promising franchise movies” into an absolute wasteland. KOTM+RM+XDP+SLOP2+MIBI+Shaft might have a combined opening below 200M, when expectations at one point were over 300M

    Really didn’t get much new stuff there, but who cares. I’ll have a Thursday ticket the day they go on sale.

    We ah... we don’t really... have a current roster right now. I mean I’ve seen some speculation that BP+CM+DS will be the new trinity, but for all we know the next Avengers roster will be Strange, Ant-Man, The Wasp, War Machine, Shang-Chi, Falcon, and Black Knight or something. Or the next team up movies could be The Ultimates and Young Avengers. We don’t really have a clue.

    They’ve put out an incredible streak of movies over the past 4 years that (mostly) have been seen by lots of people and enjoyed by those who’ve seen them. If you think you can only see like 6 movies a year with the family and you want to make sure everyone has at least a pretty decent time, 2 MCU+a Pixar+ a WDAS+ a live reimagining + a SW has got to seem like a pretty safe slate.

    CM and FFH are both roughly 60 Day presale runs. FFH’s 6-day no previews release just makes all comparisons pretty uncertain.

    I’m thinking R$75-R$90ish for Aladdin right now.

    So without TS4, maybe could make a run at top 15. As is, top 20 seems the goal?

    Will make a run at the WW top 50. Might be able to make the gross currently needed but miss because TS4 and FFH got there faster.
