  1. I’m not sure what to think of this movie. It’s messy, but I don’t know if I’d say it’s bad. I liked Bale in it, but I’m pretty meh on the humor. If they’re going to make another Thor movie, it might be time to find some fresh blood.
  2. Since L&T is looking to have a strong opening, does that officially debunk all the people who claimed Lightyear flopped because of a one second lesbian kiss, or is the movie nowhere near as queer as we were led to believe? I haven’t watched it yet, so I honestly don’t know.
  3. The parts of Multiverse of Madness where Raimi’s influences shine through are the best parts of the film. If anything, the movie likely would’ve been pretty dull if Raimi wasn’t allowed to go weird.
  4. Alright, I guess we can add this to the list of movies where Disney made a big fuss over queer representation, only for it to amount to basically nothing.
  5. The movie wouldn’t have shot anything before Boseman passed. He died during lockdown, and the cameras didn’t begin rolling until nearly an entire year later.
  6. Well, they do seem to like Spider-Man, but generally, they’re much bigger fans of stuff like Harry Potter.
  7. There hasn’t been a formal ban on Marvel movies in China, but the CCP in general seems to be cracking down on Hollywood movies, and the recent batch of Marvel films have been among the casualties.
  8. Parodies of Christian Bale’s Batman voice were still pretty big at the time. You’d think they would’ve tried to find a way to squeeze that in there, along with a Twilight joke.
  9. I have to say, even for something made in 2012, this video seems remarkably lazy.
  10. I don’t recall the first Thor being anymore comedic than most of the other Phase 1 movies. Ragnarok upped the silliness for sure.
  11. A sixth Thor movie sounds like overkill. Out of the original Marvel Trinity, I find it odd that Thor is the one who’s still kicking around.
  12. Fair point. NWH was such a crowdpleaser that it was easy to overlook whatever narrative or technical shortcomings it may have had, especially since Spider-Man is currently the most popular superhero out there. This movie will have to stand more on its own two feet in comparison.
  13. NWH managed to turn out fine, despite the fairly short post-production window, but this one is supposed to have an even shorter time crunch, so who knows how that’ll turn out.
  14. They also attached the teaser to the end of NWH, which gave the impression that it would deal with the ramifications of that movie’s ending. Not the case at all. It likely doesn’t help that the Professor X we see in MoM isn’t even the same one from the X-Men movies.
  15. NWH was overseen by Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios and the writers of the previous MCU Spider-Man movies. It’s an MCU movie. There was a key factor outside of the MCU that made people turn out in droves to see it, but from a creative standpoint, it is a Marvel Studios movie.
  16. It’s probably still premature to make any assumptions about the future, but it would be a bit depressing if NWH were to end up being seen as the MCU’s last big hurrah. I’ve never been huge on the MCU, but it left such a big cultural footprint that it would suck for it to be reduced to a shell of its former self.
  17. At this point, it would not at all surprise me if this movie is seen as another mixed bag for Marvel. I get the impression that they might’ve rushed to get this out in 2022.
  18. Just make sure you go before the movie starts and don’t buy any beverages. Simple as that.
  19. I cannot imagine a scenario in the current year where even James Cameron would be allowed to put a three and a half hour movie in theaters, but I also never would’ve guessed that Matt Reeves would get to make a nearly three hour Batman movie.
