  1. Oh, right. I think it’s interesting that we’ve now had two instances of people being led to believe that Fox characters were being brought into the MCU (Quicksilver and Professor X), only for them to turn out to not be the same versions of those characters.
  2. I assume the first time is when it was reported that MoM would be a big cameo fest, even though it ultimately wasn’t. What was the other time?
  3. That actually sounds like a good thing. Not only does it give them more time to work on it, but it also means that interest in the game will potentially be higher, since it’s now coming out after TWoW.
  4. If we want to be generous, it’s possible that if Cavill does show up, it will be to announce that a crossover with Black Adam and Shazam is in the pipeline. Still, I’d much rather get a solo Superman movie, and at this point, I think the only way that can happen is if they do a reboot.
  5. I’m not expecting Cavill to be there, either in-person or virtually, but Deadline and Variety will have to deal with a lot of pissed off fans if nothing happens.
  6. I’ve long since given up on expecting Henry Cavill to come back, and I’ve made peace with that. I just want a concrete sign that we’re getting a new Superman movie, and Comic Con would be a great place to mention this. It’s absurd how WB has been dragging their feet with the character. By all means, reboot the character. We have three different Batman universes at this point, so surely we can have a new Superman.
  7. Get Out and Us both had pretty mainstream appeal. They’re a lot less schlocky than most studio horror films, but they’re not exactly niche and weird arthouse movies. Jordan Peele’s career can probably recover if this movie doesn’t perform so great, but I don’t think Robert Eggers will be allowed near a big studio emojis again.
  8. I thought we moved past the “critics are giving x movie a pass because it’s woke/the director is a minority” discourse?
  9. That gives it a bit more credibility, but even then, they say there’s “buzz” that it might happen, not that it’s sure to happen.
  10. That’s disappointing. I was hoping they’d have some announcements for The Batman 2 and whatever the hell the next Superman movie is supposed to be.
  11. I do think it’s more than a little unprofessional for a critic to accuse other critics of lying about what they really think of a film.
  12. It’s about time cameras started rolling. Assuming they can finish filming by November, the movie seems like it should be good for its current release date.
  13. I agree that there’s a lot of pressure to get this movie right, but I’m not sure Spielberg would’ve been a good choice anyway, even if he agreed to this. I’d argue that the man’s past his prime. One thing I know for sure is that messing up this movie would be a far bigger setback than messing up something like the Eternals. The Fantastic Four is the title that put Marvel as we know it today on the map, and they were once seen as the company’s definitive superhero team. Ideally, if this movie does well, I think the Fantastic Four should be the new flagship characters of the MCU.
  14. Marvel can “aim high” all they want. It doesn’t mean Spielberg directing was ever a possibility.
  15. People need to keep their expectations for Marvel in-check moving forward, if they’re disappointed by this movie’s box office.
  16. Clubs are supposed to be daring, aren’t they? Besides, 2023 is so crowded at this point that it’s anyone’s guess which one will come out on top. The boring answer would be something like Guardians of the Galaxy or even Indiana Jones.
  17. I almost want to make a highest grossing movie of 2023 club for Dune at the end of the year.
