The Burton films were actually notorious at the time for how dark and twisted they were. That’s the whole reason the Schumacher films were made the way they were.
Outside of some of Bane’s dialogue, the only other time I really recall having trouble understanding what a character in a Nolan film is saying is when Michael Caine’s character in Interstellar passes away.
I don’t really understand this idea that Christopher Nolan movies are difficult to follow. Most of his post-Batman movies are very much made with a mass audience in mind. It’s not like he’s David Lynch.
Since it’s been confirmed by the powers that be that this has nothing to do with the DCEU (which many of us knew for a while now), I do wish that WB would’ve just retired Batman from the DCEU.
