  1. The continuity was already wonky before Dark Phoenix, especially if you want to count the Deadpool films.
  2. If you really want to try and make any sense of continuity for the X-Men films, Logan takes place in 2029, so it can be considered the last film chronologically.
  3. It seems like Henry Cavill trends every other day at this point. I don’t know what’s caused people to suddenly start paying so much attention to him, but I do wonder if WB is taking note of it.
  4. Just to make sure I got this right, filming is supposed to pick back up in less than two weeks, right?
  5. It’s still not the kind of title that you’d expect Happy Meal tie-ins for. Just to give an idea, the DCAU wasn’t even allowed to use that name, and the shows in that setting were able to get away with some fairly dark subject matter. Plus, the premise itself is fairly dark.
  6. I’m not sure why Ray Fisher is doing this now, if he’s still in talks to come back for this movie. Regardless of what you think about John Boyega’s jabs at Disney, he at least waited until after Episode IX was finished before doing so.
  7. And to think, this movie would’ve finished filming a while ago if it hadn’t been for COVID.
  8. The big question is, how long will Pattinson be required to be in quarantine? When will he be allowed to resume filming his scenes?
  9. BoP tries too much to be like the Deadpool movies. I also can’t really fathom why they decided to call the kid character ‘Cassandra Cain’, when she has absolutely nothing in common with the comic book character. Ewan McGregor is pretty good in it, though. Maybe he should’ve been the Joker in SS?
  10. I guess Disney really wants to be able to market this as “the sequel to the highest grossing film of all time.”
  11. Probably because RT now allows pretty much anyone to be a certified critic, meaning that there are likely a good 300+ reviews on the way.
  12. I completely forgot about that. In that case, I guess the opening weekend wasn’t a complete disaster, but it still wasn’t anything great. I think it’s fair to say that WB was hoping for more.
  13. Its opening wasn’t really “excellent.” Not only was it extremely front-loaded, but it came in well below projections. WB projected an OW of $170 million after the Friday numbers (which would’ve still been pretty front-loaded), and it ended up just barely inching past $166 million. Sure, it had a higher opening than any other DC film, but keep in mind that movies like TDK and TDKR didn’t have Thursday night previews or 3D ticket prices, and in the case of the latter, the Aurora shooting likely had a negative impact on the OW. The bottom line is that after the Friday numbers, the movie dropped off pretty quickly.
  14. All things considered, BvS had a pretty underwhelming OW. Its Friday numbers were huge, but then it dropped like a rock through Saturday and Sunday, and it never recovered from that. The movie should’ve at least topped the OW of DH2, but it didn’t.
  15. I just sort of assumed this would’ve been shorter than the first one.
  16. It’s one of the last three Marvel movies that was produced by Fox before they were bought out by Disney. The other two were Deadpool 2 and Dark Phoenix. So, yes, it’s fair to say that this is officially the end of the Fox Marvel movies.
