  1. I guess if the Academy really insists on doing their annual Oscars ceremony next year, Tenet might be a movie that’ll get some buzz, if only for the fact that there doesn’t seem to be a lot of competition?
  2. Looking at the films that have been released this year so far (and yes, I’m counting the stuff that went to streaming), there doesn’t seem to be much that’s worth any real Oscar buzz. I guess there’s that Spike Lee movie...
  3. I don’t see much of a point in even having the Oscars next year. 2020 hasn’t exactly had a very strong lineup of quality films.
  4. There’s virtually no chance they’ll recast T’Challa. Anyway, that’s the last thing I’ll say, since I don’t know if I want to keep talking about the prospects of this movie right now.
  5. I’m not a fan of this practice of using CGI to recreate dead people, so I’d rather they not do something like that.
  6. If a movie has “suicide” in the title, should it really be marketed to kids anyway?
  7. Man, I can’t believe Ben Affleck is coming back, but there’s still no word on if Henry Cavill will return. Since we’re getting a Matt Reeves Batman movie that’s not set in the DCEU, I would’ve preferred that the DCEU stop using Batman altogether.
  8. So, is this movie basically the stereotype of what detractors say Christopher Nolan movies are, that being that they’re cold and self-serious, and are all around confusing?
  9. Superman really has been getting the short end of the stick for a while now. Even outside of the movies, we’re getting another Batman related game next year, and in 2022, we’re getting a Suicide Squad game where Superman is once again going to be the bad guy. The only other thing Superman really has at the moment is that direct to video animated film that just came out.
  10. MoS would not have made twice as much as it did with better reception. That’s completely absurd. It was never going to be a billion dollar earner.
  11. It was pretty obvious for a while now that this would be a smaller movie. It’s consistently been described as a noir style detective story. I would’ve liked to have seen a Batman movie with characters like Clayface and Man-Bat, but that clearly wasn’t going to be on the table for this movie, at the very least. By the way, I have a feeling that Matt Reeves is trying to build up the Court of Owls as the main villains of this trilogy.
  12. BvS did address Batman’s brutality. You can say that it didn’t do a good job of addressing it, but it definitely tried to make a point about how much more brutal and nihilistic he’s become. Him trying to kill Superman is very much presented as a bad thing, and his ending monologue in the film is supposed to show how he’s started to lose his nihilism.
  13. They don’t fit into this universe, because they aren’t part of it. This is a completely different continuity.
  14. Serious question; was anyone expecting this movie to not be dark and gritty? I mean, Matt Reeves’ isn't exactly known for making lighthearted movies.
