  1. The difference is that Harrison Ford is the one who made Indiana Jones what he is. The character is synonymous with him. There have been plenty of characters inspired by Indiana Jones, but there’s only one Harrison Ford.
  2. This movie is a remnant of the old regime, so I don’t think it’s even worth the kind of discourse it’s inspired. It’s clear as day that it won’t factor into the future of the DCU.
  3. Making an Indiana Jones movie without Harrison Ford would’ve looked no less cynical than having an 80 year old Harrison Ford play the character, but in a different way. Who even wants to see an Indiana Jones movie where he’s played by someone else?
  4. The Shia LaBeouf movies sure have gone through a re-evaluation over the past year. I guess that isn’t entirely surprising, since everything that’s considered nostalgic seems to getting looked at in a different lens nowadays, but it’s still weird to see. I suppose the 2007 film and DotM might have some merit, but I think RotF is only marginally less bad than AoE.
  5. I was going to say that they could release this in March if BTSV gets delayed (which is apparently pretty likely), but if they’re going for a holiday movie, then I suppose they’ll want it to be released in December.
  6. Nolan movies usually have pretty solid legs. It should help that this isn’t a fanboy IP movie.
  7. If this does manage to make it to next year, I’m half-expecting it to be the biggest movie of 2024. Domestically of course. Avatar 3 is supposed to come out next year after all.
  8. I’ve seen a few sources that claimed they started working on the animation around June 2020. What did Lord and Miller say?
  9. As a far as I know, ATSV didn’t officially begin production until 2020, so it would be more accurate to say that it took three years to make.
  10. I think MoS, BvS (Ultimate Edition) and ZSJL are of roughly similar quality to one another. They’re all flawed, but I don’t consider any of them to be bad. I might give the edge to ZSJL when looking at the trilogy as a whole.
  11. I’m pretty sure the 25% profit thing only applies to the Spider-Man films made in collaboration with Marvel Studios, which would be the MCU Spider-Man movies. Disney does profit off all the Spider-Verse merchandise though.
  12. I think the pandemic and the day and date arguments can only get you so far. GvK was also day and date and opened at an even worse time during the pandemic, but it made a lot more. Chances are that TSS would’ve flopped regardless, just like BoP. The DCEU in general has had trouble keeping audience interest in the 2020s.
  13. I will just state for the record that these reviews probably wouldn’t be causing this much of a stir if not for the hyperbolic raves the movie was getting beforehand. WBD set themselves up here.
  14. I’ve seen multiple people who have claimed that this is “one of the greatest superhero movies ever made,” and it’s not just Zaslav and Gunn. The simple fact is that certain people have placed ridiculously high expectations for this movie.
  15. I don’t see why it would miss the date. They should have plenty of time to finish the VFX.
