For my money, I’m not expecting this movie to be poorly received. I seriously doubt that critics will agree with the insistence that it’s one of the greatest superhero movies ever made, but I’m sure it’ll fare better than Black Adam and Fury of the Gods. I just think the endless hyping has gotten annoying.
I wasn’t suggesting Stephen King lied when he said he likes this. Just that it’s clear that WBD is desperate to spread the narrative about how great it is, to the point where they’re fishing for celebrity endorsements.
There’s absolutely some desperation going on here when WB is using Tom Cruise and Stephen King to hype up their movie. Zaslav has been pulling out all the stops to get the word out that this movie is apparently so good it cures cancer or whatever.
If this manages to pass $700 million and gets decent word of mouth, then I think they could still go ahead with part two, as long as they make sure to keep the budget under control. Definitely don’t do a part three though.
I don’t know why Disney is even still bothering with Tron. I know it has a cult following, and that many people here wanted another one, but I just don’t think it’s ever going to be a thing.
I’m still looking forward to this, but I’d be lying if I said that the multiverse concept doesn’t come across as slightly more gimmicky here than in the first one.
The Walter Hamada/AT&T era at DC was just an all around bust. Maybe The Flash will be different, but it sure seems like Hamada’s plans for the DCEU wouldn’t have amounted to much.
People seem to be convinced that East Asian countries don’t like movies with black leads, but I don’t know how accurate that is. I do know that the Black Panther movies were very domestic heavy, so there’s that.
Outside of Kate Bosworth, has there actually been an actress for Lois who was younger than the actor playing Clark?
Anyway, I kind of like the idea of Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, but not so much for SupermanS
People couldn’t seem to make up their minds on whether or not that was “woke.” In any case, after the movie was a hit, they tried to claim it was “anti-woke.”
