  1. I’d say it’s not only confusing, but it also runs the risk of diluting the brand.
  2. The movie probably doesn’t suck. Everything that’s been said about the movie from insiders suggests that it’s apparently a winner.
  3. I forgot to mention, but I can’t say I care for the idea of making a Batman & Robin movie set in the DCU, while the Matt Reeves universe is still going on. That’s too much Batman. Why can’t we just get Robin in the Reevesverse?
  4. Why exactly do video games need to be connected to the DCU? This all feels excessive.
  5. Her track record with Marvel leaks is good, but she’s been known to say things to bait Snyder fans.
  6. I see no reason to assume this movie won’t receive a healthy boost compared to the first one. All the signs are there for it to happen.
  7. If that happens, then this really will be the new Snakes on a Plane. Well, at least M3gan’s managed to do well.
  8. I liked the first one, and I certainly don’t want this to be bad or anything. I just can’t bring myself to have much enthusiasm for any of the DC movies this year, on the count of all the drama and uncertainty about the future. For my money I think this was a fairly generic trailer that, as others have said, puts too much emphasis on the CGI action, instead of the family dynamic. It doesn’t look as generic as something like Black Adam, but I wonder if David F. Sandberg may have overexerted himself here.
  9. I don’t see why they didn’t just stick with Mr. Mind. I feel like that would’ve been more unique, and it was already set up in the previous movie. The villains here aren’t even from the comics.
  10. If this movie were to do Black Adam numbers, that would mean it’d make more than the first one, which wouldn’t be too bad. I’m not convinced it’ll pull that off, though.
  11. THAT cameo is an important part of the movie, and this has been picture locked for several months now, so that seems unlikely.
  12. Why has this thread suddenly become active again with people talking about what they think of the film?
  13. I don’t understand how the Razzies could possibly think nominating a child would go over well in the current year, unless they’re following the “there’s no such thing as bad publicity” mindset.
  14. TGM is more likely to come home empty handed than TWoW. I see no reason to think TWoW won’t win for visual effects. I’m still baffled that they’d nominate TGM for screenplay. Of all the things people praised the movie for, the script was fairly low on the list.
  15. There is a certain sense of gravitas and pathos to these movies that you don’t really see in the rest of the MCU.
  16. In terms of Best Picture, are Banshees and EEAAO the most likely ones to win?
  17. The closest I can think is when Toy Story 3 and Inception both got nominated, but Inception was only the fourth highest grossing film of 2010.
  18. I would think that Puss in Boots and Pinocchio would be more favored to win, but they aren’t Disney/Pixar, so what do I know?
  19. Ok, but Danielle Deadwyler played a real person too.
  20. A screenplay nod for TGM seems kinda eh to me. I know it’s a beloved film, and I’m not objecting to the Best Picture nod, but was the script really anything to write home about?
  21. Damn, Ana De Armas got nominated for Blonde? Admittedly, I haven’t seen the movie, and I don’t really plan to, but that comes across as a rather odd decision.
  22. Visual effects should be an easy win for Avatar. If it doesn’t win that, then something will seriously be wrong.
  23. The Banshees of Inesherin, The Fabelmans, All Quiet on the Western Front, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and Top Gun: Maverick are all pretty much guaranteed to make it, right?
