  1. CHAPTER TWO ends well, so I don't think the length will be a huge issue. It picks up steam as it goes (once it finally gets going).
  2. The structure from the novel, where the adults don't remember events, is frustrating in this - in the book the adults and kids cross-cut, so the adults remembering would naturally spoil the kids bits. But here, we've seen everything, and so much of the movie (especially that choppy choppy choppy first hour) is made up of "I don't remember ... wait, I kinda remember..." bits. Ryne is right about the distracting CG used to de-age the kids - Finn Wolfhard has a CGI sheen through the whole movie. It hits Eddie and Ben the most after that, but the effect is at its worst in their first full new scene.
  3. SAY IT TO MY FACE YOU RUDDY COWARD. I'm also seeing this tonight but it doesn't start for a bit.
  4. There are a bunch of screenings tomorrow night so it wouldn't surprise me if the social media embargo drops then.
  5. FAST FIVE FAST & FURIOUS 6 TOKYO DRIFT THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS FURIOUS 7 FAST & FURIOUS THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS HOBBS & SHAW
  6. The trouble with AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE is that each act is less good than the act before it. But the whole thing is still quite good.
  7. I liked it a fair bit, but I also saw it when it was about 25 minutes longer so I'm not up to date on the final cut.
  8. One thing to keep in mind is that it's pretty long. Some critics might feel beaten down by it.
  9. Take the overseas cuts of the movies, snip off the last scene of Vol. 1 and the first scene of Vol. 2, and that's The Whole Bloody Affair that's been screened a few times in L.A.
  10. I'm not the best person to ask because I hated THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS and this is like that dialed up a few notches.
  11. Seems weird that the response to me comparing people who know nothing about the Manson murders to people who knew nothing about the Titanic is "Some Americans didn't know about the Titanic." Yes. And they were silly.
  12. I check out this thread for the first time in a couple days and suddenly it's gone full "Did you know TITANIC was based on a true story??"
  13. My crowd went nuts for it but I saw it in Hollywood so it was sort of aimed at us.
  14. I've heard this is pretty bad. (And that it has very few references to the broader F&F franchise)
  15. I feel like you can split my whole life into two parts: before I saw the CATS trailer and after I saw the CATS trailer.
  16. People keep talking about THE RISE OF SKYWALKER suffering for THE LAST JEDI, but in my experience audiences didn't like THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS very much and I think HOBBS & SHAW is going to pay for it.
  17. Huh. I sort of expected more from this than just being The Most Dangerous Game by way of The Purge.
  18. The adults in the book exist as a framing device for the kids, so they are by nature not as compelling. Re: McAvoy, it feels a lot like he's doing a broader personality from SPLIT.
