    Is it? Nobody seemed terribly excited for FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM until that last trailer which was designed around all the Harry Potter connections. I don't think audiences have ever cared that much about the magical creatures in the wizarding world. They've never been a real hook.

    I've heard there has been zero course correction from THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD. It's very much another movie of that ilk.

    I'll be honest, the reactions I've heard aren't great. I've asked a number of people how they graded it on the score card (Excellent/Very Good/Good/Fair/Poor being the the choices) and I heard one Good, a few Fairs, and two Poors. Even Good is considered a negative score by the studios.

    At least two that I know of, one in LA and one in Orange County. And Blumhouse likes to screen their stuff in New York so it's very possible it tested there and I just didn't hear about it.

    It's been a year but the audience scores for HALLOWEEN KILLS were through the roof - way higher than the 2018 movie.

    Saying Mendelson has an "against" agenda is laughable. Dude just has varied taste and he doesn't care what publicists think because he has Forbes backing him.

    Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.

    I know this is the most hypocritical thing a member of our species has ever said but stay away from spoilers as much as you can. This is a very different movie walking in fresh than it is if you already know what's going on.

    It's my understanding that a lot of footage in the trailer, like Lorraine on the cliff, was shot in January. That doesn't mean it's bad, though. Sometimes reshoots really do improve a movie. The early blogger word is relatively positive though I don't know anyone who's seen the final cut.

    Predicting general consensus is stupid and I always hate doing it, especially when my sample size is me and maybe one other person. But people always ask; sometimes I'm right and sometimes I'm wrong. For example... Audiences seemed to like these movies. Now imagine if Hades had seen them early and was asked to predict the general consensus of a large number of people. (I think CAPTAIN MARVEL is fine and FAR FROM HOME is cotton candy, utterly forgettable but fun enough at the time)

    Is this still untitled? It test screened under the title FREAKY FRIDAY THE 13TH right before California shut down.

    If it’s delayed (I don’t think it will be unless Coronavirus projections are significantly optimistic), I’d put it out in April of next year and release HALLOWEEN ENDS in October and sell the whole thing as a big event.

    I don’t understand how you can be shocked by deaths in this movie if you’ve ever seen something like FEAST before. This was aping it down to the “funny” archetypical character names.

    I'm super curious about DaCosta. She nabbed a writing credit and she hadn't worked on the draft I read.

    I haven't seen this myself but I've read a draft of the script and I know a couple people who saw it last month. Keep those expectations in check.

    It doesn't spoil as much as people seem to think it does. Basically nothing of the last 10 minutes is in either of the trailers.

    You know that great buzzy feeling when a movie ends really well? This movie ends perfectly. I saw it an hour ago and I’m still feeling a high.
