  1. Don't see Bumblebee numbers happening especially if Birds of Prey manages to reach it.
  2. There's a chance this does a La La Land but that's probably a very small chance.
  3. I don't think doing "well" internationally well help the movie much though. Like, it could make 300 mil OS (which I think is decent) and still be a flop.
  4. Nah, if it loses DGA and SAG, it will be a frontrunner but I think 1917 can still win.
  5. But I think the chances of the DGA not giving the award to Mendes is pretty low though so if 1917 wins the PGA, then I think its winning Best Picture (unless it somehow loses at the DGA).
  6. If 1917 wins at the PGA, I think it's the frontrunner above OUATIH and Parasite because it will also likely win the DGA.
  7. There should never be another Pirates movie that Gore Verbenski's isn't attached to. He's the reason that first three movies were so good.
  8. Even with the brand damage the second film did, I think this is too pessemistic.
  9. For the superhero movies: The Batman - 520mil/1.35 bil Spider-man 3: 450mil/1.2 bil Thor 3: 380 mil/1.15 bil Dr Strange 2 - 320/1.05bil Suicide Squad - 290 mil/800 mil (I think WB could incorporate some sort of synergy with Batman here even if they are part of different universes similar to what Sony did with Venom) Black Adam - 180 mil/500 mil Few other blockbusters: Avatar 2 - 650 mil/2 bil Jurassic World 3: 350 mil/1.3 bil F&F 10: 220 mil/1.1 bil The Matrix 4: 380 mil/950 mil Mission Impossible 7: 260 mil/820 mil (The final film will cross 300 mil dom and a billion WW)
  10. Parasite is probably winning editing then. Three of the last five editing-drama winners won editing at the Oscars.
  11. Birds of Prey, Sonic, Dune, West Side Story, Croods 2, Tom and Jerry will make more than Dolittle. Oh wait, you think they aren't blockbusters just because you don't like them.
  12. I think 2020 is going to be a much more interesting year to watch than last year because of unpredictable breakouts like 1917 and this one. We only started to get smaller breakouts like these ones last year around the second half of the year (with films like Hustlers, Knives Out, and FvF)
  13. If it makes a better film, yeah the filmmaker should try less. I don't see any impact a few more cuts would have had other than the film getting less awards and Mendes missing out on his Best Director award (which is why I think this movie was made in the first place).
  14. I'm pretty sure that Birds of Prey tickets won't start selling as late as the 29th. Think that was placeholder date on the cinemark website (its also not there anymore). Tickets have already started selling in the UK and Australia this weekend.
  15. 1. Birds of Prey 2. I'm Thinking of Ending Things 3. Tenet 4. Da 5 Bloods 5. In the Heights 6. The Invisible Man 7. Mank 8. Last Night in Soho 9. Dune 10. Malignant
  16. Watched this a few hours ago and has taken over Parasite as my 2nd favourite of the year. Gerwig has made it clear again that her greatest talent is her ability to make us empathise with the characters, not just through her writing, but through the visuals and editing. A lot of people seemed to dislike the non-linear editing but I think its part of the reason why this movie works, espescially when it comes to the latter half of the movie. The way the movie cuts between the beach in the past and the present and the scene where we see Jo go down to the kitchen, both in the past in the present, to check if Beth has died are powerful because of they way they were put together. People say it might be confusing for people who have never read the book but I've never read the book (and only seen a few minutes of the 94 movie) and I understood what was going on. 10/10
  17. I'm interested in looking at Chris Evans's post-Marvel career not because I think it will be bad but because I think it will be great.
  18. Downey's production company just got a first look deal with HBO Max: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/team-downey-inks-hbo-first-look-deal-1269251 Seems like Downey will be doing fine. But I'm personally more interested in seeing Chris Evans post-Marvel career.
  19. Seems like Sonic tix have started selling. No official announcement yet tho.
  20. Saying Heil Hitler again and again isn't subtle humour. It's just childish. I generally like Waititi's comedy. It just doesn't work here.
