  1. DSMOM had three massive benefits: 1. Follow-up to Wandavision (did not turn out the way people wanted) 2. Follow-up to No Way Home (had no real connection) 3. Constant cameo rumors (fell flat) So DSMOM was always going to have a LOT more hype. Since the things that gave it its hype did not live up to expectations, the multiplier was horrible. Cry wolf-people have come to expect much but see little. People may be nervous about BP2. Hopefully WOM and walk-ups will help. BP1's hype grew over time.
  2. Funny, I mentioned that I saw low awareness and people jumped all over me. Not saying that awareness is high, but how do we measure it? I will admit that the constant chatter, talk, and hype for both NWH and DSiMOM was real and present and high volume. Thor not so much. And I don't hear people go on and on about BPWF the way they did for NWH and DSiMOM. But that is just anecdotal for me. Is there a way to see the actual awareness and measure the hype? Has too much time gone by since the last BP film to keep up the hype?
  3. Sarcastic or serious? How are sales and trailer viewings compared to DS2 and ThorLT? I try to figure out the tracking thread info but my feeble brain can't comprehend all that lol. I mean-truth is that ticket sales kind of came quietly without any fanfare or huge announcement. How many even know?
  4. I would most prefer Nakia (hence my last post). However, the mere fact that Shuri wasn't really a fighter, was young, cocky, more of a braniac, and certainly the least physically imposing could make for the biggest journey. She comes across as the least likely to be able to face down Namor and/or Namora and/or Attuma. But that makes room for the most growth. So I trust Coogler. Shuri makes sense because she's SO down and out from the looks of it in the trailers that rising up against all odds is a great story despite what you thought of the character or the actress. And yeah, I couldn't care less about her vax opinions any more. I am extremely pro-vaccine and teach about it at school, but it's time to just let that go as a foolish opinion and not let it get in the way of what looks to be a great movie! Tickets on sale, great trailer, and like 5 or 6 posters today! What a day!!!
  5. I don't know, but it seems they are making it TOO obvious and being TOO straight forward that Shuri is the one in the suit but showing us (a) that the person is a female in the trailer and (b) Shuri being front and center in the posters......except for one where Nakia is in the center (I think it was the IMAX). We have 3 great female leaders other than the Queen (who I seriously doubt would become the new BP). So maybe they are tricking us to believe it is Shuri when, in actuality, maybe it is actually Nakia. She's been shown in trailers but has been suspiciously quiet. They went out of their way to make the identity a secret in the first teaser. Would they suddenly come right out and throw it in our faces that easily in the second? Gotta at least make ya think!
  6. First trailer had the emotion and the music. The new one had more action and probably seemed a bit all over the place to some folks compared to the first. No worries. The movie is over 2.5 hours long and will have time to pack in both the emotion and the action. I also think that we may be misled, in a pleasant way, by these trailers.
  7. Teaser was emotional. Trailer is more action-packed and visual. I would LOVE to see someone put the two together!
  8. Yeah, at some point. Like right now! https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=_Z3QKkl1WyM&feature=emb_logo
  9. Maybe they are trying to trickle the system a bit, starting with one major chain at a time. @Wolverpool XXRif it's not that they are avoiding a crash, then why are they taking this approach? As far as I can see, only AMC is selling tickets right now.
  10. Gonna predict a $180-$200 million OW Domestic: $470-$500 million Looking at a slightly better than TFA-to-TLJ drop. Not due to the same reception that TLJ got, but rather that it's not being released on a holiday AND that the Christmas holiday will cut into it due to AvatarWOW. I know it's a big range, but until we get some data, I think it's a fair start. And what the hell @Wolverpool XXRthey started selling them without any notice? WTF are they even doing? Is this a new Chapek style of marketing directive?
  11. Yeah and Sony does things VERY differently. The first "teaser" for No Way Home was nearly 3 minutes long and was much more of an extensive trailer than anything else. When the "official trailer" came out a month before release, it was more of a second full-length trailer. The official BPWF trailer will pack a punch for sure. Especially if tickets go on sale. I guess no advertisement during NFL games means that we won't have to wait until MNF. Tomorrow morning for sure!
  12. That wasn't a trailer. It was an actual clip from the movie (about 3 minutes worth) followed by select scenes from the first teaser (with maybe an added quote or two). And it was about 3 and a half minutes.
  13. Still no "new trailer tomorrow!" or "tickets go on sale tomorrow, tune in for a new trailer" promo yet. Have the Sunday games begun? I know at least one is in the 3rd quarter, but not sure about any televised games. And also interesting that there's no reporting of a new trailer or ticket sales tomorrow. Very interesting!
  14. Well she is the Queen so there's that. She is the monarch to Wakanda upon the passing of her son. I'm guessing a resounding yes to that question.
  15. If this movie gets good critical reviews and has a monstrous OW with a decent multiplier, they NEED to at least offer Coogler the keys to Avengers Secret Wars.
  16. Not a whole lot different than No Way Home. Actually, the full trailer is coming out sooner than NWH. It's just that NWH seemed to have more free marketing in the way of word of mouth. Plus, the marketing has been MUCH better than ThorLT. There's been "stuff" out there (photos, stories, toy leaks). It just doesn't have the constant discussion that NWH had. One thing to realize with the box office is that it will have a good hold in its third weekend due to Thanksgiving holiday. And the mid-week should be excellent that week.
