No surprises about the horrible audience scores. Immense review bombing from those who did and didn't see it. Unfortunately, the show has not generated a large amount of buzz and thus most who will review it will be the haters who have been spewing most of the media. Lack of action in the first two episodes is never a good thing for longevity. Let's hope the other 6 episodes have plenty or at least a decent amount of action.

I just watched 3 or 4 videos about Rings of Power and "complaints" and didn't actually see anything whatsoever that would qualify as an actual legit complaint. The ONLY empathy I may feel a tease of comes from the idea that hardcore Tolkein fans fear that ROP could suggest that Tolkein was a sexist and/or racist due to his lack of inclusion. But people have to also understand the world that Tolkein himself came from. Organized Chao has a nice take and critique on the complaining such as that from Nerdrotic. The Second Age of Man was never fully explored by Tolkein.

I understand and can even respect the idea of authenticity to an extent. However, no character was gender or race swapped. Too much expectation for this authenticity can come across as being petty if not at least a bit racist. I think what fans would have wanted to see is a balance with diversity AND love for Tolkein's work and worlds. Instead we are ONLY seeing comments about the diversity. I am going to assume those are both there and well balanced, but certain Youtubers who are obsessed would make you think otherwise. The discussion seems to be completely dominated by incels who seem to feel threatened. The RT scores will be interesting.

Is the biggest complaint about this show really the racial diversity in casting? I mean, really? Something positive is actually the biggest complaint? Or worse yet, that they are ACTUALLY giving women more prominent roles? Says whole helluva lot more about those complaining than it does about the show itself. And what it does say about those who complain is not a good thing.

So two questions: 1. How long will Avatar (re-released first movie) be in theaters? 2. How long are they going to keep it removed from D+? Me thinks they should probably put it back on D+ with the updated effects and sounds around holiday time before WOW is out.

I've seen online in other places comments about Ryan Coogler's speech and communication which is rude. I have not seen anyone here do that thank Heavens. I also read that he struggled with stuttering and had to overcome obstacles when it came to communication. Not that anyone here would doubt his creativity and abilities, but this video. The immense attention to detail in every aspect of this shot shows how truly brilliant Ryan is and should dispell all doubts about the quality of BP2.

I don't think people will compare the new BP to Chadwick's BP. They'd do that if he were recast. The new BP will be a whole new person and someone we already know undoubtedly. So it will be more about how the said character fits with the title of BP than comparing the two. But you are absolutely correct about TDK, TLJ, and F7. BP2 is uncharted territory as far as the circumstances go. If the OW is big enough, the movie will get to $500 million regardless of possible steep drops. (but then again, we said that about DS2). Personally, I don't see them holding back with BP2, though, in terms of what they claim to offer. It will be what it intends to be. That will help the movie if those intentions are delivered well. The first trailer seems to indicate that it will.

Can't wait to see what Marvel Legends shorts they will release on D+ in prep for this. They just dropped the Hulk for She-Hulk. I was thinking one Legends per week starting on Wednesday, October 12 (one month before release): October 12: Vibranium/Wakanda (they did one for the Tesarec) October 19: M'Baku October 26: Okoye and the Dora Malaje November 2: Shuri November 9: T'Challa & Nakia (tribute just before the movie)

At first I was surprised about the casting of Halie. Basically a knee-jerk reaction. I wasn't upset but surprised. But then I heard her voice, saw her mannerisms, etc. And now she REALLY seems like Ariel. Cute as a button (not trying to be pervy just saying), outstanding voice and has the innocence. Can't wait to see her knock it out of the park!!!

The more I think about it and see podcasts and articles, the more I think that people would actually be quite accepting of another Eternals movie. In a strange way, people actually want them to do it again and do it right. Funny how certain franchises give chances to movies that don't do so great while others not so much. Overall, people want to root for Chloe Zhao and know she has a chance. That's mainly because the movie did not destroy the entity of who the Eternals are.
