Its a THU vs DS2 FRI OD. DS2 legs were awful. Thor can easily beat DS2 if WOM is good.

Shang Chi also had geo-political issues. A Chinese hero won't work in Korea, Japan. Not all ASIANS are Chinese. It worked well in Chinese Asian markets i.e. Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia.

Simple reason being it was crap. USA (especially critics) for some reason goes easy on Asian/Chinese cast films. Case with Mulan, Shang Chi, Crazy Rich Asians. Even RRR recently is mediocre and being raved by American Film Twitter. The first two are simply trash. Personally find EEEAO overrated as well just like the other three.

₹11cr approx pre-sales for tomorrow for Thor. At same time Doctor Strange was ₹22cr approx, so about half. OD probably around ₹20-24cr vs ₹35-36cr of DSitMoM (official ₹34.5cr). Let's see what Disney gives as official.
