  1. So this is gonna be a Spider verse film after all. I am denying accepting it for sometime now but guess its happening. I don't know how it's gonna fit with MCU timeline/plan Feige has set. There are ways it can go wrong badly, hopefully Feige finds a way
  2. The last few weeks went very fast this week is slow. Its only Wednesday yet.
  3. What Disney need is original content. IPs have started to dry. Yeah they have Avatar sequels to run and MCU isn't showing signs of going down yet but there may come time. Their next biggest thing Live Action remakes has almost exhausted with bigger films. Star Wars outside Skywalker saga will be something to watch out. Pixar is well Pixar but they were relying on sequels in later end of 2010s. They need new IPs, Nolan could be one for that. If Nolan want $200mn, that's worth it.
  4. In a world DC is sold to Disney, other than ofc firing Snyder, will PAPA FEIGE handle DC or someone else.
  5. Nolan is 2nd biggest director in industry. He can do whatever he want. TENET doing $360mn in middle of pandemic is Blockbuster. If Disney can burn millions on stuff like a Wrinkle in Time, Nolan is much safer.
  6. Fair enough. Still should have waited till after WW84. Is it possible that this announcement was done to push more people to buy HBO Max for WW84 itself. Subscribing for one film may not be a big motivator, but subscribing for 17 looks big.
  7. IDK if Matrix may get proper release whenever it release but in world where there was no COVID Wondy weekend has more chance of being over Matrix 4 than what you just said.
  8. That's true but in the calender settings we have 26 Dec - 01 Jan will be the biggest followed by 02-08 Jan. Dec 18-25 may be around Jan 09-15 but I think Jan 09-15 should be bigger. This is what I think Date Weekly % +/- LW To Date Week Oct 10-16 ¥1,268,725,000 ¥1,268,725,000 0 Oct 17-23 ¥6,444,058,000 407.92% ¥7,712,783,000 1 Oct 24-30 ¥5,588,449,000 -13.28% ¥13,301,232,000 2 Oct 31-Nov 06 ¥5,409,454,000 -3.20% ¥18,710,686,000 3 Nov 07-13 ¥3,116,948,000 -42.38% ¥21,827,634,000 4 Nov 14-20 ¥2,597,318,000 -16.67% ¥24,424,952,000 5 Nov 21-27 ¥2,041,000,000 -21.42% ¥26,465,952,000 6 Nov 28-Dec 04 ¥1,685,421,000 -17.42% ¥28,151,373,000 7 Dec 05-11 ¥1,080,000,000 -35.92% ¥29,231,373,000 8 Dec 12-18 ¥950,000,000 -12.04% ¥30,181,373,000 9 Dec 19-25 ¥902,500,000 -5.00% ¥31,083,873,000 10 Dec 26-Jan 01 ¥1,444,000,000 60.00% ¥32,527,873,000 11 Jan 02-08 ¥1,299,600,000 -10.00% ¥33,827,473,000 12 Jan 09-15 ¥974,700,000 -25.00% ¥34,802,173,000 13 Jan 16-22 ¥438,615,000 -55.00% ¥35,240,788,000 14 Jan 23-29 ¥350,892,000 -20.00% ¥35,591,680,000 15 Jan 30-Feb 05 ¥263,169,000 -25.00% ¥35,854,849,000 16
  9. Its most likely not what happened but what if, WB heard the rumors of Disney doing something similar, so they decided to be the first to do so, and now Disney don't do it. That will be funny af. May be WB back track after WW84 on economic grounds, but then that put HBO Max on backfoot.
  10. TBH HBO is better name, what they should do is convert HBO Now, HBO Go whatever is there in one. That's it. HBO Max is a really good name.
  11. Don't think there will be any growth in 02-08 Jan week, let alone 75%. 19-25 Dec shall have a much better hold.
  12. That's really weird. WB had quite a few in 2017, they certainly have improved their game since then.
  13. Won't be surprised if they did that in USA and European markets, but in Asia there are independent local tracking system, so we will get Asian numbers at least.
  14. Demon Slayer Worldwide till 06 Dec 2020 Japan - $275.68mn Taiwan - $18.85mn Hong Kong - $3.75mn Thailand - $0.78mn (Opening Weekend) Vietnam - $0.02mn Rest - $0.75mn Approx Total - $299.83mn Approx or ¥31.37Bn
  15. WB reports ₹5cr ($675k) opening weekend estimates on 1137 screens. IMAX format did about 10% of overall on just 18 screens.
  16. I think in normalcy $20mn from TENET was more than ok, so getting 80% of it is perfectly fine.
  17. TENET grossed ₹5-5.5cr ($750-800k) in its opening weekend with 275k admits. Badly affected by piracy. IMAX did excellent numbers.
  18. TENET Week 0: $1,485,951 Week 1: $3,161,346 Week 2: $2,057,581 (-35%) Week 3: $1,376,020 (-33%) Week 4: $1,108,737 (-19%) Week 5: $989,378 (-11%) Week 6: $818,605 (-18%) Week 7: $438,933 (-46%) Week 8: $258,323 (-41%) Week 9: $193,223 (-25%) Week 10: $135,390 (-30%) Week 11: $123,563 (-9%) Week 12: $790,290 (+539%) Week 13: $748,724 (-5%) Week 14: $733,568 (-2%) Total: $14,419,587 Box office and trend is better than what I had expected with reopening of Victoria. A 30% weekly drop will see it at $16.1mn.
  19. Gonna look TFA daily numbers for comparison as that was the film in same time frame. 12/18 - $3.1mn 12/19 - $5.3mn 12/20 - $5mn 12/21 - $2.25mn 12/22 - $2mn 12/23 - $3.45mn (Emperor Birthday) 12/24 - $1.75mn 12/25 - $1.9mn (Xmas) 12/26 - $2.9mn 12/27 - $3.15mn 12/28 - $2.35mn (+5%) 12/29 - $3mn (+50%) 12/30 - $3.2mn 12/31 - $2.3mn (+30%) 01/01 - $3.55mn (+86%) // $20.45mn 01/02 - $3.5mn (+20%) 01/03 - $3.35mn (+6%) 01/04 - $2.4mn (+2%) 01/05 - $1.35mn (-55%) 01/06 - $1.25mn (-61%) 01/07 - $0.97mn (-58%) 01/08 - $0.9mn (-75%) // $13.72mn The 02-08 weekend (New Year week) were bigger than 26-01 (Xmas week). This time weekdays of New Year week will be having holiday but I find it hard believing that they can grow or match the 29-30 December on 05 & 06 Jan. 07 Jan may be flat or bit higher. Of course will not be able to match New Year's day on 8th January.
