  1. That's a mistake. They have entered the UK last weekend numbers and in doing so added the $65mn cume to the film as re-release, dividing $8mn and change to all films.
  2. Though I don't really believe TV ratings but in desperate times as these, any number count. Baby's Day Out, which many of you might not even know exist, was a very popular Hollywood film in 90s in India, especially on Home Video. It beating Avengers: Endgame is no surprise, as a Baby's Day Out appeal to Indians who watch films on TV is much more than what West may like or even the cinemagoing Indians. Top Hollywood viewerships in India, Just accounting Hindi dubbed version as English numbers are extremely low. The numbers are TVTs, i.e. TV sets in 000's. Baby's Day Out: 9,586 (roughly 22mn viewers) Avengers: Endgame: 8,305 Jumanji: The Next Level: 7,716 The Jungle Book: 7,551 Aladdin: 6,426 Avatar: 5,256 Frozen: 4,936 Dumbo: 4,443 Toy Story 4: 4,363 Jurassic World: 4,214 All of these, except The Jungle Book are from last few weeks. Few films might be missing as data might not be available in public domain.
  3. Guess the first big release across world in a week now - Peninsula. Pre-sales started. T-7 days at 50,450 so far. Bigger than Homecoming and Ant-Man 2. Close to Jurassic World 2.
  4. that's $90k more than what IFC reported. what is wrong with Deadline.
  5. It is bit weird, how European countries are all pretty good receptive of English films but not vice versa.
  6. ₹200-250 i.e. $3-3.5 to most of them. Highest I have gone is ₹450 or $6.5 for Zero.
  7. Moving to Japan, I have so far compiled two of the biggest films, will do others soon. Spirited Away $396 million Approx and Your Name $380 million Approx. There are 3-5 other $200 million grossers as well. Spirited Away
  8. Starting with India, there are two films which have crossed $200mn worldwide; Dangal and Baahubali: The Conclusion. I usually report Indian films in China without taking the ticket booking charges, but for the purpose of this thread, I will be using the reported gross. Following are $100 million worldwide grossers from India. Dangal: $306.09 million Baahubali: The Conclusion: $271.67 million Bajrangi Bhaijaan: $141.67 million Secret Superstar: $139.91 million P.K.: $120.45 million Sholay (1975): $117 million Approx
  9. This thread for Highest Grossing Non-English films, which majority will be Top Chinese films for most part, but I hope we are gonna focus on non-Chinese films, since we have a separate forum for Chinese box office.
  10. Can someone ask Corpse about Spirited Away all releases box office in Japan. I can try rest of world. Update: Outside Japan, I compiled $128mn. Japan as per Corpse is $249mn, which I guess is only first release. Which means $377mn total before Japan re-release.
  11. In India it was Dil Toh Pagal Hai ($1.5mn) In USA I know What You Did Last Summer.
  12. It was pretty good, In fact pretty great till Climax. Plays like a blockbuster horror like IT than how The Shining did. It's sad it couldn't get that reception. May be because Warner Bros marketing sucks. They wasted a good commercial success. Also before the third act, I was thinking, something may be Star Wars could have done with Luke and Rey, in the end, it feels they did the same only. 7/10.
  13. Good enough but seeing SSR was bit emotional. Didn't expect that. Was gonna watch original first, now gonna skip that. Anyhow, thanks to our vehli janta, this will create some You Tube records. Already 1.3mn likes, which I think are Frozen. Perhaps 10-25mn likes, or more. Views easy 50mn plus in 24 hours.
  14. Just for clarification, the domestic numbers I have used aren't actuals but estimated. The way Mojo has put numbers, is simply dividing the gross by ATP of that year, while I have taken a price roughly 5-10% higher as is the case with big grossers.
  15. I thought that Joker might be big in admissions and perhaps with China release 200mn was possible but I doubt it would have got 46mn admits in China, so yeah it will fall quite short. The OS-C numbers for a comicbook film were huge at $739mn which I think no non-Avengers CBM has, in terms of admits, those are around 117mn, bigger than The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron as well, which were 115mn and 113mn respectively.
  16. just to know, do you not watch Bollywood films. even Malayalam, or Tamil there are many others considered better than two you mentioned.
  17. UAE Weekend admits since reopening May 27-30: 4571 admits (4 Days) June 04-06: 4563 admits June 11-13: 4273 admits June 18-20: 6240 admits June 25-27: 11280 admits Jul 02-04: 9794 admits Bloodshot #1 with 1.6k followed by Onward 1.5k.
  18. But Haqeeqat had those, actually that's only scene I have seen. Wanna watch it. May be this week.
  19.
