How were they supposed to know what would happen? I'm sure they did try to comfort her but they were dealing with their own grief as well. Can't blame this on them one bit.
Overall show rating up to 7.7 on Imdb. If the payoffs are satisfying then this should easily clear 8 when all is said and done. Not Mando-level reception, but will be a solid start to the D+ MCU era, especially since FATWS looks to be more friendly to casual audiences.
I was about to check why, are those spoilers going viral or something?
Thanks for this post lol, I was at severe risk as I was about to look up on social media to see more reactions.
I do wonder, though, how much of this massive buzz is just a novelty factor (like Detective Pikachu's trailer, or Sonic/Scoob though less so) rather than true "want to see this movie".
42 million views and 1.4 million (!!!) likes. Incredible performance by this trailer and way beyond anything I could have expected. Google Trends is at the same level as Infinity War's first trailer.
For those not wanting to see too much of the rest of the series, I would avoid the promo videos they are releasing now. They seem to be very revealing.
Reception would be very important. Based on the trailer's performance (which is far beyond what I expected) I think the potential would've been there for a substantial OW increase vs KOTM. We'll see how it does in Asia.
I enjoyed the KOTM trailers more as 2-minute videos, but I think this trailer does a better job advertising "why should you go see this movie"? The KOTM trailers leaned hard into the "mass extinction/Titans" part of the backstory which only the core fans really care about. This one really emphasizes the fight scenes.
The difference in the writing quality for the human characters in Skull Island and KOTM was massive. I don't really understand why tbh, it's not like Skull Island did anything super deep. In these giant monster movies the only bar is that the characters should be engaging enough that the non-monster scenes aren't a chore to get through.
