  1. I think a lot of you are forgetting that IW had a shitty Thursday and Friday so Endgame will most likely take the lead back very quickly
  2. I'm a little concerned about it tbh, yeah family film walkups but it's also a sequel, there should be some level of presales eventually. Still, I'd wait another couple weeks before really getting worried, we're still a ways out
  3. could be but i still think it's more likely they're trying to avoid meh/bad buzz sneaking out for as long as possible
  4. I guess my point is, if Disney was confident about the reviews then why not let the embargo drop after the international premiere? Helps build buzz, and being a remake it's not like they have to worry about spoilers.
  5. I don't know, I feel like better results would be achieved if the film would attempt to go "over the top" instead of making things blander for live action. It doesn't have to be the same as the animated version, it just needs to have that wild energy.
  6. What would happen would be it'll be some small-scale origin film a la Ant-Man 1, and it'll make $600 million WW or so, but the other MCU solos will have a much higher average gross due to increased popularity of the franchise after Endgame, so people on here will declare it a flop just like Age of Floptron and Ant-Man and the Flop
  7. Looking at MT and Fandango, I'm hoping Pikachu's Tuesday increase ends up great because otherwise we could be looking at yet another yikes Tuesday for Endgame (hoping for at least 5.9)
  8. I just feel like, even though I'd put it +/- TLJ (maybe slightly higher) myself, Star Wars' upside should not be underestimated with the incredible brand awareness it has in the US. That's why I think TROS over clubs should be really ambitious
  9. Is TROS > 700m really that crazy though? I feel like that's in most people's ranges. TROS>750 million might be a more interesting club
  10. Tbh the scene doesn't seem terrible or anything to me, it's reasonably entertaining. But it's definitely a big step down from the animated version
  11. Also as has been mentioned CM's early presales were benefited by its being the first big blockbuster of the year
  12. Yes... I'd say it's extremely likely that both of those will have significantly higher grosses than their previous entries. Where is the evidence that they won't?
  13. I expect the former. The movie doesn't look great but 15% is Transformers 5 level
  14. I will add to the people who think G2 may be more walkup-based than Aladdin. Beauty and the Beast was very presale-heavy, on the level of a CBM (its OW/PS ratio was the same as Guardians 2, which was a highly anticipated sequel). The nostalgia created by the 90s animated classics makes these remakes have a built-in fanbase in the same way a CBM/franchise movie does. And if the movie is good, it makes no sense to release the embargo this late (not like spoilers are gonna be a thing), so I think there's a high likelihood of poor reviews.
  15. It will be #2 domestic easily, just because it doesn't beat TFA doesn't mean it isn't a cultural event, it's opening alone proves that it is a domestic cultural event because people were that hyped to see it immediately
  16. Can't say for sure. In my theory FFH will not outgross CM. Idk I feel like FFH will get a decent Endgame boost, have to see how it develops, hopefully it'll have a nice runup starting from June or my club is gonna look really stupid
  17. And FFH has 6 full days of presales. Doubt that has a huge effect this far out, if anything the lack of a traditional Thursday preview may be hurting it a bit
  18. IIRC the number for FFH is a tad lower than the equivalent one for CM?
  19. Solo got plenty of marketing, in fact it's unaided awareness was very high, but the marketing just wasn't that appealing to people
  20. Infinity War and Endgame complement each other, I don't think it's as simple for me as one film is better easily because they work together very well. That said, Endgame is a (slightly) more impactful experience for me due to that amazing third act which IW couldn't quite match despite having a great third act of its own.
  21. I see your point but at the same time I feel like CBMs generally have somewhat similar behavior when it comes to presalesm, except outlier cases like Endgame or even IW
  22. Fits what I can see on the Pulse tracker, the fan event seems to be selling very well (over 10%) of the "normal" tickets
