Due to Drafthouse appealing more to film buffs who attend movies more frequently, it probably won't have as big of a jump between a blockbuster and a mega blockbuster as other chains.

There was the Atom deal today, but then it sold 400 tickets in Regal which doesn't have Atom, so...really good.

Not a big issue, there was no need to spend time giving much focus to Ned or whoever else. The more interesting story was Peter's.

False, vast majority of the screentime is on Peter, not a whole lot on his "school mates," especially Ned.

All 4 of those points were good though.

Since we are doing this: ITSV FFH HC 1 2 TASM 3 TASM2 Top 6 are good movies, 3 is a total mess but still entertaining, TASM2 was the one I found really forgettable other than a couple scenes.

So it's moving at a normal pace here. I agree with Charlie that I think something is off for Friday. Both Thursday and Saturday followed normal trends, why would Friday be the only one way below.

Garfield was pretty good in the first TASM. I don't remember the second well enough though from what I do remember his performance was more scattershot in that. TASM1 was a quite solid movie in general, don't know why it always gets lumped in with the sequel.

And we have our first rotten after 55 reviews. FLOP.

I like 1 better than 2. Mainly because Goblin feels like a much more threatening villain than Doc Ock. Ock was fun but didn't get all that much menace from him.

I don't find SM2 to be anywhere near the best CBM ever, but disagree with the bolded. Maguire is my least favorite of the 3 actors, but I still find him to be solid, and I think Peter's arc in the movie is quite strong and what carries the film for me. The film really showcases the sacrifices Peter has to make to be Spider-Man. On Mary Jane, I didn't like her character much in any of the three films, but she did have agency at the end when she ditched the guy at the altar. I hated that scene, mainly because the way MJ handled it was just awful and made her character seem even more insufferable -- still, it does count as agency. I find Doc Ock to be somewhat overrated in terms of depth (a lot of the "villainy" comes from the machine and not really from him) but still a really entertaining villain for Peter to face off against, love his one-liners. The confrontations between him and Peter really make the film. Overall it's a 7-8/10 movie for me, I don't love it as much as most here, but still have a good time with it. Yep, her character is so much more well-defined, and great chemistry between her and Garfield. Though I did think the second film overdid their flirting at times, from what I remember. Still, her material in the first movie alone is enough.

It's not supposedly. Pre 2021 comps have been overshooting all year.

There are various theater closures since EG and the market isn't exactly the same for that comp to work so well, plus other regions like Michigan are lower, I think 45 is more likely than 55.

That doesn't usually happen with the Atom deals, usually Monday still accelerates from Sunday at a normal level, then Tuesday is massive.

Weekdays should sell higher. I mean if there isn't any issue in the data then this is actually pretty concerning.

Film is great the whole way through pretty much.

For me Watts is great. He doesn't have a distinct style sure but he delivers the results, just as it seems he has done here.

Didn't happen for Spider-Verse, plenty of people still rank that one first, though its lower viewership compared to the live-action ones means that 2 keeps the crown in terms of popularity.

For me DS2 visuals are an easy win, I mean Derrickson already nailed the DS visuals for the most part in the last movie so just rinse and repeat should do it, the multiverse premise gives a great opportunity to showcase some imaginative and cool stuff as well. Hopefully Raimi takes it.
