    When high 40s previews is a "disappointment," lol... Though I don't think we have enough info to say for sure, given that the differing preview start times make regional comps hard. Am waiting for Zack's data to see.

    There are a lot of other parts of the movie I dislike, but everything you say here is true. This scene has always been unjustly hated when in reality it is one of the best and most creative scenes in a superhero film.

    It's been "ok" (fairly entertaining but below average by MCU standards) for me, but will probably be below WhatIf, FATWS, and WV in the end unless the finale is seriously great. Main issue is that the story feels very throwaway. We still don't even know what that watch thing does, and that is supposedly at the center of this whole mess.

    No one will ever be as important as RDJ. Holland as Spider-Man is quite popular but it's not like he's pulling these numbers on his own. I would say he is more on Hemsworth level.

    No, won't even be close, and that isn't the goal. It's not like a solo Spider-Man movie would have made what NWH is going to.

    Nah, that movie is terrible. It deserved the reception it got. Speed Racer on the other hand was super underrated.

    Wonder if RT verified can start off at 100%. Shang-Chi started at 99% and had significantly weaker WOM than this seems to. Of course once the numbers get that high the distinctions between films will be blurred, probably average rating will be the better thing to see.

    Yeah, reading back through those days, it was really a fun time. Now the tracking thread still feels a lot smaller, though we are far from the low point.

    I'm still at 47, and won't be pushed higher unless walkups smash my expectations tomorrow. But there is a lot of uncertainty here, especially on the higher end.

    Doesn't the 1000 thing only apply to sports venues? I don't see any qualifier on "movie theaters"

    Bleh. Villain reveal was obvious, Yelena's motivations make little sense, and the entire plot still feels muddled and lame. This show is at its best when the dynamic duo is together and we didn't get much of that in this episode. Yelena was fun, of course, but just feels out of place. Barring a surprisingly good finale, will end up pretty low on my MCU ranking.

    Ugh, had tickets for this Saturday but had to cancel, now the next time I'll be able to see this is Christmas Day. First time I missed an MCU movie on OW since Thor 2 :(.

    To be fair it's not like these reactions are coming out of a super hyped premiere (I think?). So they won't be as inflated as the typical blockbuster reactions.

    Can a movie like this benefit as much from WOM though? It will benefit for sure but there are limits to legs when a movie is this hyped.

    I think TASM does some things the best of any Spider-Man film, the romance being the main one, but also the swinging scenes in both films are great, and Horner's score for the first is probably my favorite of the series. Also Flash is done quite well in the film. Just a few narrative choices and things that don't quite cohere for the first one prevent it from being higher in my rankings.

    Rewatched a lot of clips from the TASM movies as I don't have time to rewatch in full. TASM2 may have its issues but the very last scene feels awesome, really exemplifies the power of the character.

    At some point it isn't luck, he knows how to deliver a smooth and well-made movie.

    Would expect Tuesday daytime/Monday daytime to be significantly better than Tuesday nighttime/Monday nighttime for several reasons. Low hours tend to have bigger jumps, reviews dropping late Monday night would have juiced morning/afternoon sales, and avid TMobile/Atom buyers would have probably jumped on the deal during that time.

    No, I don't mean that way, just Alpha chain has Atom and not all chains do (Regal, in particular, is a big one they are missing). The Atom deal is for all weekend I believe.
