  1. I find Strange entertaining to watch. Not likable per se but I think he adds a nice dynamic to the MCU. Him and Wanda will have an interesting dynamic for sure.
  2. I like the amount of Doom and Panic in the first two pages of the thread lol. I remember back when I was a mere lurker when Gitesh said Black Panther would do only high 60s opening day, people got super panicked, then the real number was 75.
  3. The Disney-Sony slapfighting is weird but I do find it annoying when people try to pretend like the Holland Spider-Man isn't popular or wasn't a big part of this film's success. Sure the other two added value, but Holland also provided a solid base for said additions.
  4. While I enjoyed NWH a lot more than I thought I would, I found the Strange stuff to be the weakest part, so my concerns about this movie are not entirely assuaged. The trailer looked interesting though. Will be great to see Wanda back and some neat looking visuals.
  5. Start with the bad, still think the whole spell stuff is iffy and contrived and wish that whole plotline was written differently. That said, as far as the criticism of the mechanic of how everyone forgot about Peter, I don't think it's that complicated. Basically all records that would identify him to people who knew him would be erased probably, but stuff like his citizenship, passport, and whatnot probably would stay. I assume the spell would take care of all these complications on a case-by-case basis. As far as Peter helping the villains, I was initially skeptical, but it works well enough honestly, feels right in line with his character. Still, I think May's dialogue motivating this was sort of on the nose. Now for the good: The ending and sacrifice. Really powerful, really emotional. Seeing that lonely apartment, the Palpatine minifigure and the beautiful final swing was just a perfect bookend to this trilogy. As a big fan of the last two movies, I was gutted but it felt like the right thing to do. When I saw the first trailer I thought that something like this was the only way I would like this multiverse plotline, and I'm very glad they went with it. It closes off this part of his life and also creates so much dramatic potential for the future. I just hope that it all doesn't just get quickly reset in the next film. This ending was way too powerful to just cast aside. For me Tom owned it as well as Andrew, but Tobey was also good, his character was just in a different place so he didn't have the fireworks of the other too. But having all 3 was a delight and their interactions were gold. That shot of all 3 swinging...awesome. Tom...man he just killed it. The bloodlust when he went after Goblin was genuine. Andrew saving MJ was a great moment for his character, and he just has that earnest energy that works really well. Goblin was perfect, best of the Raimi villains and killed it here. Loved Otto's final interaction with Tobey. May's death was genuinely affecting and the right place to deliver the "with great power" quote.
  6. Either of those two versions would have made less lol. I know plenty of people who don't care about Tobey or Andrew but saw this because it was a hyped MCU film.
  7. I think reviews could be ok, but reading the reactions I don't get the sense audiences will like much. A lot of the praise is for elements that appeal to critics more.
  8. I'm in Texas right now and I can assure you that there are not gonna be any more lockdowns here lol. Just wish we could have more vaccine/mask mandates though.
  9. Pretty clear that both sides contributed, its the crossover of two very popular series that created such huge interest.
  10. Thank you, and congrats to you and @CloneWars as well and all of the rest of us believers. Great weekend.
  11. Yeah but I actually don't like that episode. "Corruption" is probably my least favorite TCW episode, was pretty boring. Episodes I listed are underrated and funny.
  12. Harry Potter (movies): Philosopher's Stone Chamber of Secrets Hallows Part 1 Order of the Phoenix Prisoner of Azkaban Hallows Part 2 Goblet of Fire Half Blood Prince Though some of this is based on fairly vague memories, may be due for a rewatch. And not sure how I would rank FB films. Still, doing some more service for the page count. Hoping to wake up and see some good progress made here. Books: Phoenix Goblet Hallows Prince Chamber Azkaban Stone
  13. I don't know what you mean by people but the film was very well received, no film will be liked by everyone.
  14. Star Trek movie ranking: Undiscovered Country Search for Spock Voyage Home Wrath of Khan First Contact The Motion Picture 2009 Beyond Into Darkness The Final Frontier Generations Nemesis Insurrection
  15. Iron Man was. Though I guess it depends on where one thinks Spider-Man was at, because I guess you could also say Cap and Thor were on the level BO wise looking at how TASM2 did.
  16. Star Wars ranking: 1. Bombad Jedi 2. The Gungan General 3. A Sunny Day in the Void Rest doesn't matter tbh
  17. All of the 2000s movie memes, while many like Raimi memes are good, must bow before their overlords. Tragedy of Darth Plagueis is still the pinnacle of that genre.
