  1. Wow, Why do you dislike FFH? Is your dislike directed to Holland or Sony? Well, Even though I rarely speak - your hate made me curious. In FFH, The only thing bad was making Mysterio's whole reveal of multiverse mute by the end, but other than that... there wasn't much to dislike... As much as I like 1st two Raimi's Spiderman - I simply hated 3rd one. It completely distorted what I loved about tobey's previous portrayals and it's hard to explain to others. Amazing wasn't bad for 1st movie but its wasn't gr8 either. Then, came Homecoming and its was refreshingly good. People bash on him being Iron man Junior but that's 'em being just mean, he finished his fight by himself anyway. Marvel can't really leave Spiderman franchise completely to Sony... though as a Box office analyst you may not care anything that ain't office. From 2010, When MCU has formed... Avengers and Co. have made $7 Billion from Merchandise but Spiderman alone has made $11.6 Billion in merchandise sale [Not Counting 2021 Sales] <-- This amount doesn't include Video games, Movies or TVs...
  2. Its Okay, they will fill the 2M gap in the re-release. Maybe they aren't taking daily ER or the account-person is just lazy.
  3. Finally we know why Agent J was missing in MIB:I. Peter Parker took on task to help Asgardians, friends in desperate need. Once Agent J was taken care of, Thor & Valki easily got his job. Good Work, Peter.
  4. Reddit...most probably. Before forbes there were few other sites whose tile was same as reddit's top post 3 day ago. Though, Reddit getting it from here is 90% possibility.
  5. @Charlie Jatinder @ZeeSoh Just Curious, The Avatar in India made around 1100M Rs. according to Fox. Due to dropping Footfalls, The ticket prices in 2009 in India were lowered. According to Vishal Kapur, COO, Fun Multiplex, "We have rolled back our ticket prices by 12-18 per cent in select cities like Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Gwalior to bring in more people. After the reduction, our ticket prices are between Rs 95 and Rs 115, depending on the day of the week."A spokesperson of Big Cinemas said, "We have decreased ticket prices 30-40 per cent in Delhi NCR and Maharashtra order to boost occupancy. After the drop in prices, our tickets are priced between Rs 60 and Rs 300. Our premium lounges, however, are still priced at Rs 700." But... Yes here comes the But, Avatar prices were double of normal Hindi movies-- Source for Double price of Avatar: Success for Avatar did not come easy, though. The team at Fox Star Studio, which marketed and distributed the film in India, began its spadework 10 months ahead of its release: There were only 12 digital (3D-capables) screens in India when Ice Age was released around seven months ago, but by the time Avatar was launched, the distributors had convinced others to invest in such screens. Over 60 digital screens showed the film. The dual price strategy helped as well—the ticket prices were higher on weekends and for 3D, going up to Rs 300, whereas they were lower for a normal version in tier-II towns and smaller screens. So, Exactly what ATP for Avatar should be taken? 100 is too low. 300 is high. 200 Rs.? 150 Rs?
  6. Not talking about EG overtaking JW3 at all. I am just saying Past few weeks, I have been looking at those numbers and either JW had steep drop today or maybe EG performed better and they are close. What I want to know is approx what % exactly those tickets sold represent for the total. 2790 is the number of tickets....EG sold on Fandango till 12 noon on Sunday in America.
  7. http://akvalley.pythonanywhere.com/static/fandango_daily.txt How valid these numbers are? And what percentage of sale do they show? I mean its only fandango's so exactly how much % share it has? Also, The Sunday numbers for EG and JW are so close right now. EG - 2790 vs. JW3 - 2887 I have been looking at those numbers on an almost daily basis around this time and JW3 was always ahead by at least 500+. I think this is the first day it has come so close. well, its only 12 noon.
  8. What we have here is: A true lively case of Expectations turning into Disappointment and now furthering into Hate.
  9. Charlie said, 2.2M Monday OS-China. I just calculated each and every country from various sources here till 26th Weekend. Total till Sunday comes 15.84M, If you add 2.2 to that It becomes 18M, not 17.1m. So most probably 17.1 is just till Sunday and has included few more territories whose total isn't there on BOMojo. Brazil- 1.83 (via Beelzebub) - Mon not included Japan -1.3 (via Corpse) - Mon not included UK- 1.13 (via Olive) - Mon not included SK- 1.26 (via Kofic)- Mon not included Germany -1.33 (Not sure about this one- it said from 22-26) Australia- 1.05 France- 1.029 Mexico - 843k Spain - 505.8k Taiwan -422k Argentina - 372K Hongkong- 312K Russia - 300k These all numbers similar to BOMojo numbers. Totalling these all numbers, we get 15.78M (None included Monday) If you check this: https://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=intl&view=byweekend&wk=2019W21&id=marvel2019.htm ---> total comes around 15.84M So, People who are including 2.2M Monday are being hasty and those not including can be wrong too.
  10. Endgame has finished its theatrical run with 629.1M until Disney comes ahead and says anything else. Mojo is wrong, it used the wrong ER.
  11. Man, These Hindi Versions are on par with the old movie's dub. Maybe I should go and watch it in Hindi once more.
  12. The highest Wednesday drop was 37.4% for PoTC: Deadmen tell no tales which opened on MDW in recent times. The average drop on Wed is 30% and many recent movies: Solo (-33%) Alice(-29%) X-Men TLS (-20%) X-Men DoFP (-30%) and Furious 6 (-28%). Aladdin has best WoM among them. I think with 25% drop 8.5m+ is doable.
  13. Today was 18k Attendance. > Included in that 13789956. So, another 457K seems very tough. It will touch 14M admissions though.
  14. Weekend Actuals via Corpse: Weekend Actuals (05/25-26)01 (01) ¥351,000,600 ($3.2 million), -09%, ¥1,205,906,900 ($11.0 million), The Confidence Man JP (Toho) WK202 (---) ¥246,000,000 ($2.2 million), 0, ¥332,068,500 ($3.0 million), Aircraft Carrier Ibuki (Kino Films) NEW 03 (02) ¥211,320,400 ($1.9 million), -23%, ¥2,355,500,500 ($21.5 million), Pokemon: Detective Pikachu (Toho) WK404 (---) ¥164,000,000 ($1.5 million), 0, ¥209,706,700 ($1.9 million), Sadako (Kadokawa) NEW 05 (04) ¥153,219,800 ($1.4 million), -26%, ¥4,870,528,100 ($43.7 million), Kingdom (Toho/Sony) WK6 06 (03) ¥147,715,900 ($1.3 million), -30%, ¥5,564,046,500 ($50.4 million), Avengers: Endgame (Disney) WK5 07 (05) ¥132,052,500 ($1.2 million), -30%, ¥8,575,715,400 ($78.2 million), Detective Conan: The Fist of Blue Sapphire(Toho) WK708 (---) ¥x65,000,000 ($590,000), 0, ¥x97,519,600 ($889,000), Promare (Toho) NEW 09 (08) ¥x41,416,700 ($378,000), -42%, ¥1,916,583,400 ($17.3 million), Crayon Shin-chan: Honeymoon Hurricane, The Lost Hiroshi (Toho) WK6 10 (06) ¥x40,074,100 ($365,000), -57%, ¥208,582,200 ($1.9 million), According to Our Butler (Toei) WK2 11 (07) ¥x34,148,600 ($311,000), -60%, ¥260,074,600 ($2.4 million), Iwane: Sword of Serenity (Shochiku) WK2>The Confidence Man JP easily held onto the #1 spot in its second weekend of release, and delivered an excellent 9% hold in the process. I expect good/great holds for most of its run, and it should end up finishing above the ¥2.5 billion ($25 million) mark. This would be a particularly good result for a film that opened just two weeks after a major holiday period. >Aircraft Carrier Ibuki comes in second place, and didn't disappoint with a solid 194,000 admissions sold over the weekend frame across 331 screens. It reached 265,070 admissions since opening on Friday. This is a solid debut, but it's a very impressive debut for independent distributor Kino Films. It should finish around ¥1.5 billion ($15 million). >Pokemon: Detective Pikachu slips to third place in its fourth-weekend of release, delivering yet another good weekend hold -- the second best in the Top 10. The film's trajectory remains unchanged, and it should finish just above the ¥3 billion ($30 million) milestone. >Sadako makes a surprising debut in fourth place, selling 118,000 admissions over the weekend frame on 416 screens. It reached 152,023 admissions since opening on Friday. Its average ticket price came in much higher than I was expecting. I don't have an opening list of the many Sadako (Grudge) films, but this opening is likely in the middle of pack. Legs can be kind of unpredictable for the horror genre, but a total of ¥1 billion ($10 million) is doable. >Kingdom rounded out the Top 5 by edging ahead of Endgame this weekend (the two films have been neck-and-neck for the past few weeks), earning itself a good hold in its sixth-weekend of release. Unless it experiences an unexpected drop next week, it's likely to outgross Death Note: The Last Name (¥5.2 billion) and then Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno (¥5.22 billion) to become the highest-grossing live-action film adapted from a Weekly Shonen manga series. >Avengers: Endgame gets bumped out of the Top 5, but it's still performing well, and holding noticeably better than most superhero films. Its chances of reaching the ¥6 billion milestone was 50/50 at best just last week, but this weekend's hold should nearly lock the milestone up. I expect it'll finish at ¥6.1/6.2 billion ($55/56 million). >Detective Conan: The Fist of Blue Sapphire continues its excellent run in its seventh-weekend of release, and is keeping a strong ¥1 billion lead over last year's franchise record-setting release. It's very likely to exceed the ¥9 billion milestone now, and while its impressive lead over last year's film will begin to shrink very soon, I do believe it'll stay ahead of it and set a new franchise record. I expect it'll end up grossing around ¥9.2/9.3 billion ($84/85 million). >Promare's weekend figure remains an estimate, but its three-day total is actual. It sold 64,975 admissions since opening on Friday across 200 screens.
  15. Well, Ignoring Inflation rough Estimates of few countries would be: India would be at 91m +30m (48Rs vs. 69 Rs) Argentina would be better by 8 or 9 times.... current is 21m = +150m You can double Brazil's 85m. +90m or more Increase Europe haul of 350m by 12% to 390m approx. +50m or more Well, there are lot more countries but roughly it would have crossed 3B WW.
  16. Just came out of Theatre, Most in my theatre had a blast watching it and I think more than once they all gasped and clapped. Also, during Speechless song, I heard more than a few gasps (even I had a goosebump hearing Naomi's speechless... "I will take these broken wings and watch me....") There is a lot of action, more than enough and those trailers don't do justice to the movie. Alladin is Ok, he isn't as bad as the reviews make him out. Zafar was comical at times. Will Smith did his best and I don't think in current generations of actors, anybody else with similar stardom as him could have done better. Naomi ...well she was perfect Jasmine.
  17. Well, Folk Tale is something passed on between people traditionally and generally orally. But that story was written by a French man, who in turn heard it from Syrian man. How does that make it a Folk tale? Except for a fact that Aladdin was poor Chinese, everything else about his story is so middle-east.
  18. I think he means he dislikes CGI Monsters fighting each other, not CGI humanoids fighting CGI monsters.
  19. In India... Aladdin can. You know if Hindi dubbing is done right, even people in the rural area know, "Aladin aur uska Chirag'. This is akin to Mowgli movie which can easily be taken in the local small town Market.
