  1. My dad dozed off during one of the action scenes and I struggled to stay awake a few times because of how boring it was. Never sinks as low as Crystal Skull, but that movie had some high highs at least...this is just middling throughout. 4/10, worst Indy by a country mile.
  2. Looks INCREDIBLE, I don't think itll explode from 1 to 2 as much as people expect (I still maintain enthusiasm for Dune is fairly limited). But put me in for $550m, maybe $600 if WOM is crazy good.
  3. That classic Lucas marketing helped Crystal Skull crossover to younger audiences. I was a kid when it came out and it was inescapable. Toys, lego, games, merch tie ins. It got me into the older films as a result...I don't think Dial has done the same for the youth of today. Plus you can't do the "one final adventure/the long awaited return of Indy" thing again.
  4. I mean the fresh reviews buoying the score aren't showering the film in praise. And neither did the Cannes audience rip it to shreds. It's all a very lukewarm response, some skewing more positive than negative.
  5. Yeah I honestly think if they cut the multiverse shit and just made it focused on the Barry's, the mom dilemma and more looney tunes esque flash setpieces...movie could've worked. Starts quite strong, I agree.
  6. They're still gonna air S2 on P+...but no one will be able to catch up when it airs. Brilliant decision!
  7. I just can't fathom how you work years in animation and still can't visualize previz footage.
  8. Disney has made the IMAX aspect ratio exclusive to D+ lately, which I don't usually mind since its just open matte with lots of emtpy head space...but for Guardians 3? It's def framed for it and I hope it's not cropped on disc.
  9. I still think Gore Verbinski should've directed this as Spielberg's replacement
  10. Found this pretty bad but the first act was genuinely very fun. The multiverse stuff absolutely killed the film and just got confusingly convoluted at a certain point. Should've just been a Flash film.
  11. Yeah honestly, the DCU needs to be a HARD reboot to truly get out from the shadow of the DCEU. No Waller, no Peacemaker, no Suicide Squad, NOTHING that could remind people.
  12. I think a proper Burton Batman legacy sequel would've had more appeal than this. Because it's aimed at the younger audiences with no Keaton nostalgia, and older audiences who might go for Keaton don't care about this multiverse stuff. Ends up not really drawing either.
  13. I like Hoult as an actor but you can't be the frontrunner for Batman AND Superman, way too different. Can see him as Bat, not as Supes. Brosnahan Lois please please please.
  14. That's lifted directly from the story of King Arthur and Excalibur (plus the Boorman film which is his fav of all time)...goes to show that those plotlines come across silly and weird when applied to caped crusaders lol.
  15. Having rewatched it recently, the affair angle is still there, it's just more hinted at/implicit in the dialogue. I didn't know it was shot to be a main plot point though...wish DePalma won that battle.
  16. Man of Steel is quite flawed but I think a proper MoS sequel dealing with the fallout of it could've helped make the controversial elements go down easier with time. I don't necessarily hate the collateral damage or Zod's death, it's just that the film glosses over it and ends 5 mins later and we never get a chance to see how it impacts/shapes Superman. Although, it's better than what we've got since in every CBM after. Demolishing 50 city blocks and then someone in an ADRd line off screen goes "thankfully no one was injured, we evacuated the city in time".
  17. It looks a bit better than I expected, I guess? The cast is a big step down and kinda nullifies the premise of action legends teaming up since 90% of them aren't here now lol. I'll watch it to see Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais on the big screen...that's about it. But wow, what a fumbled bag this franchise has been. From the first trying too hard to be a drama, 2 being semi-decent, and 3 shitting the bed on a PG-13 rating and focusing so much on the new, young cast no one cares about (made worse by them not even casting any ACTUAL action movie up and comers like Scott Adkins, Iko Uwais, etc.). And now 4 which has 50 Cent as the headliner.
