ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' becomes biggest 2024 film
MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
C'è Ancora Domani grossed 1.5M in its seventh weekend, on par with what it did on the opening one! The total is now 29.5M euros, and after outgrossing Super Mario, Spider Man, Oppenheimer and many others it should have enough to surpass the 32.1M of Barbie It will also pass Life Is Beautiful at 31.2M as the highest grossing Italian movie excluding Zalone, but as we know in those years the counting accuracy was pretty bad and the film in reality has grossed 47M euros -

Added Barbie, it should be at about 370M even if it could be a bit higher. Oppenheimer instead ended just short of the list at about 340M, exactly like Super Mario. Let's see if after winning several Oscar it will have some small re-releases -

ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' becomes biggest 2024 film
MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
Godzilla Minus One is in theaters just for one week, but it's also impossible to find 🥲 Not a single theater in the radius of 50km, and after seeing the incredible reviews it's a real pity -
If the film was better I think it could have done about 400M, but currently I'm not even sure it will reach 300M

ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' becomes biggest 2024 film
MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
C'è ancora domani won the fourth weekend in a row after decreasing by 10%, and reaching a total of 19M euros The Marvels instead dropped by just 60%, as usual we are quite review-proff, whether they are very good or very bad -
THE MARVELS | 121.6M overseas | 206.1M worldwide
MG10 replied to kayumanggi's topic in International Box Office
Really impressive underperformance, my only regret is that this didn't already happen with Love and Thunder which in my opinion is the worst Marvel film, not only for the film itself but because it was deliberately made so ridiculous and embarrassing by the director, basically an insult to the fans -
ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' becomes biggest 2024 film
MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
Ok guys it's time to talk about "C'è Ancora Domani" by Paola Cortellesi, the film opened with 1.6M euros, and between good reviews and her promotion it then increased by 110% in its second week and by another 30% in the third one After three weeks it's already at 13M euros and it's the highest grossing Italian movie of the past 3.5 years, and excluding Checco Zalone movies it should became the highest grossing of the past 11 years -
The difference in the overseas gross between Suzume and Weathering With You is really impressive, and if my calculations are correct it should beat the overseas gross of Your Name and Spirited Away even excluding China and South Korea Then obviously it's mostly because it had a better distribution thanks to Shinkai's increased fame and a better consideration towards anime movies in general

JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW
MG10 replied to Corpse's topic in International Box Office
Out of curiosity, is there any little chance that the ending of Attack on Titan will also be showed in theaters maybe in a few months, taking advantage of the fact that many fans will certainly want to watch it on the big screen sooner or later? Then I don't know if there are similar examples in the past but how many anime as famous and appreciated as Aot ended with an episode lasting an hour and a half? It would practically be the perfect opportunity- 23,673 replies

I also add that the 2020 Japanese drama "浅田家!" grossed 30k euros in its first weekend, I wanted to watch it but there wasn't a single theater showing it here in the fifth most popolous Italian province 🤷♂️ -

MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
The trashy film by Me Contro Te opened with 1.9M and it should finish at 4M, while Killers of the Flower Moon instead opened at 1.7M and maybe it could reach 5M Then the Taylor Swift movie still hasn't reached 1M And for other titles we have Barbie and Oppenheimer which are going to end with 32.1M and 27.8M, much closer than what I initially expected -

Ah don't worry Italian rap is indeed generally trash, and no matter how much some of its exponents get inflated the most famous artists remain the various singers such as Mengoni, Annalisa, Maneskin etc Not exactly Michael Jackson sure, but still better than the various rappers -

It's not a surprise, Italy is certainly not her market In the 2014-2017 period in USA she was already among the most famous singers, here instead she wasn't even in the top 10 just taking the American ones. And even after her recent success with the 8 albums in 4 years + the tour she still remains behind many other Italian and foreign artists -

Don't worry guys, until one week ago all Reddit was saying this will make at least 1 Billion so we can consider it already done 😂
