The difference in the overseas gross between Suzume and Weathering With You is really impressive, and if my calculations are correct it should beat the overseas gross of Your Name and Spirited Away even excluding China and South Korea Then obviously it's mostly because it had a better distribution thanks to Shinkai's increased fame and a better consideration towards anime movies in general

Out of curiosity, is there any little chance that the ending of Attack on Titan will also be showed in theaters maybe in a few months, taking advantage of the fact that many fans will certainly want to watch it on the big screen sooner or later? Then I don't know if there are similar examples in the past but how many anime as famous and appreciated as Aot ended with an episode lasting an hour and a half? It would practically be the perfect opportunity
