Expect to see WB drop the final trailer in the next few days? I don't get WB's decision to hide its "musicals" nature. Should just play rendition of "Pure imagination" in their 2nd trailer. Remember how "A whole new world" in Aladdin's 2nd trailer helped to reverse the initial bad buzz of Aladdin remake?
The same can be said to Barbie but that quickly "forcing" these demo to come out after the movie become a cultural and meme juggernaut. Wonka being a non-action flick already capping its upper limit from the start and that is why the creativity of the marketing becoming more important but so far marketing has been "conventional", totally ignoring the meme effect onto Barbie. Barbie proved that teen boys can come out for a female-led movie if that movie is eventful enough, especially if every gf dragging their bf to see the movie.
How is Japanese react to Wonka? The WOM over there is important since they are very into musicals, If they liked the movie, the movie could leg out big.
Too bad Wonka didn't respond much to great reaction. Is it because the movie isn't memeable? It is time for Tim for recreate that Gene Wilder iconic Willy Wonka meme.
In a normal year, Nolan "No CGI" won't not be as nearly as irritating as it is now because in recent years VFX artist have been under intense amount of production pressure, yet underpaid and exploited. Therefore any comment that seem to deny their efforts and presence is really not a welcoming gesture. Probably that is why Avatar 2 got intense support from community last year for simply acknowledging what they done is cool and make them not feeling underappreciated.
I wonder if dropping Godzilla X kong trailer right now actually help Godzilla-1 a bit because this move make people talk about the two different style and take on godzilla movie.
Hunger game prequel keep holding better than the first FB. The movie has similar Friday jump but since hen followed by smaller Sat, Sun and Mon drop and still got stronger Tuesday jump.
I don't know Jumanji should be the direction of potential breakout. Jumanji is still very action-packed to appeal wider audience but I don't see this is the case for Wonka. Even there is a breakout, I don't see a much higher than TGS.
