  1. i agree it needs at least 40M as summer first blockbuster (but we have to say it was supposed to be released now on march and the new may date it's because of the strike) but "anyone but you legs" are easier for this cause it's not only rom com but also should have a very big appeal for a male audience, so it's closer to a quadrant movie than that.
  2. According to a very reliable source this is gonna be the first movie concert released by Apple for the VR vision Pro. Coming at the end of the year probably. "I work in the industry, and can 100% confirm that VR version of The Eras Tour is being rendered as we speak. Exclusively for Apple Vision Pro with the release later this year. 8k quality full 6DOF volumetric scenes. A Taylor Swift concert in your bedroom basically. UPD: VR meaning not the typical "video on rails". But a virtual space where you can walk around Taylor and the dancers"
  3. The zone of interest starts this new weekend with a +21% from last week reaching 3.4M dollars. Could close with this word of mouth at around 5.5M probably. Poor things should reach this weeked 9M euros and could close at this point with 10M dollars total. Today Dune will surpass the first movie.
  4. the global total until Sunday plus Us - China weekdays mon- Wed is 390M. I guess it made at least 10M mon- wed globally sans China.
  5. Up to 93% (15 reviews). solid B from Indiewire too, calling it a "terrific pop corn movie" The Fall Guy Review: Ryan Gosling Leads Another Terrific Popcorn Movie (indiewire.com)
  6. And the average vote is very positive (8.1/10), It's not like 90% and everything is 3/5 stars. In these kind of cases usually the average won't drop drastically. Like I said a 75-80% in the worst case.
  7. Yeah It's coming for better legs than Batman cause 1) It's a Better movie 2) people have only to see part One if they want to see It, while the 139th movie about the same character has a large part of the population just don't care about It anymore no matters how they hear It's good.
  8. RT has now some official review from slashfilm, Guardian, the playlist, vulture, variety and they are positive. So It's not like only early reactions from bloggers invited at the Premiere. Good. I think at the end of everytjing could get a 68-73 final range on metacritic and 75-80% on RT. Not bad. Gosling (expect for Netflix movies of course 😭) is always a gurantee for at least decent movie.
  9. The fact there there is a couple in the movie is clear but i thought wasn't the center, while reviews are basically saying is first of all a romantic movie.
  10. I read there are a lot of jokes for cinephiles..so Tom could be there with a jokerabout his stunts? 😅
  11. Nothing special. No One cares about pre Sales numbers expect for box office forums lol. And doesn't have any cost to open that 20 days before, 30 or 40 days. Like 100% free. Not every movie has a preview with the cast doing interviews and Red carpet 50 days before. It happened for this so why they shouldn't open the previews even if for only 48 hours you get already a little bit of buzz from these events and related news?
  12. It was supposed to be released this week before being moved after the strike. The premiere with the cast at the SXSW was planned already so...why not?
  13. Oh so the rom com part is strong on this according to reactions. I didn't get it that much from trailers. So could take the women too (gosling sells better the female the driven movies imo). So seems to have the action and romantic...interesting.
  14. Great for dune. Second best 2nd monday drop ever on March.
  15. Lord of the rings is really pure american cinema epica. Nothing strange It won best picture like Gladiator, Titanic, Braveheart, ben hur etc ..did Villenueve cinema is really different from this kind of epica, his directing style and his narrative style is more influenced by european cinema and estearn cinema in some way (this Is why dune is more bigger in these countries than in America). Seems not really Academy stuff. It's like oldboy winning best picture (a very estearn movie in style and meaning) instead of Parasite (a movie seems made to be instantly remade with american actors on an american location) .
  16. The first one sold 3.2M tickets. Oppenheimer 4.4. so yeah seeing how the First movie was already very very strong in France It's not so surprising this will sell more tickets. The First One was ready incredible strong in France. Oppenheimer did absolutely great in France of course but from France you could expect a lot more. I think probably being against Barbie was a problem in terms of showings for day and everything. Just notice how in Italy It sold 4M tickets (released a month After Barbie) when usually for this kind of big american blockbusters France market is almost the double than italy.
  17. Furiosa and joker 2 i don't think are granted success in terms of Academy love. Imo sequels Academy could ignore if they don't bring nothing new after the first movie (see black panther 2 or how avatar 2 got only 3 technical nominees against first movie 9). I see Gladiator 2 being the other sequel- blockbuster could take the love this year.
  18. Not to say dune 2 won't win BP. Villenueve wasn' even nominated for the first movie despite best picture.
  19. In two days there will be the first screenings at the SXSW and so probably some reaction.
  20. Oppenheimer is a biopic movie please. It has Nolan influence in the directing style and in part of the structure. For the rest is the Historical period drama biopic (even related to world war II !) Academy loves 😆 In terms of "now Academy could like blockbusters - cinecomics- b movie inspired action movies" the win last year of "all at once" was way more significative. Dune is absolutely not an Oscar bait movie.
  21. The second week should be similar to Barbie One right?
  22. The negative impact of social networks and with their think pieces and culture wars stuff was a kinda of 2015-2020 thing. Everything is a trend for Hollywood (and well for the media too). Now people in general and people in the movie industry are tired of it. In 2024 la la Land would win with any problem.
  23. Greta Gerwig's Narnia with a great cast could be a big success. It's a shame is a Netflix release. Btw americans should start to watch again adult dramas are not blockbuster too. You have poor things, a movie with Emma Stone, an acclaimed director, around 10 oscars nominees. Why you don't go to watch adult movies on a big screen? In my country the movie is #1 movie of the year and in proportion It's like It made 150M in the US.
