  1. Spoilers are allowed now in tags? Currently, 46% on RT and 45 on MC. Can't wait to see that second weekend drop!
  2. It has to sting to be the iconic voice of arguably the most recognizable video game character in history for decades, and yet have someone who's never voiced Mario before be chosen to be his voice for the movie. At the same time, I can understand why Martinet's over-the-top accent might be a little too much for a feature-length film with plenty of dialogue. That aside, the teaser looks promising. As a fan of the chubby plumber since the 90s, I'm excited for this. I think the nostalgia alone will bring a lot of us millennials' asses to the theater.
  3. As of now I don't have much interest in seeing this, but I hope it does well for the box office's sake.
  4. Love that there's still a place for horror in theaters.
  5. Saw Smile on Sunday. Some unintentionally hilarious moments aside, it was a great film! Would definitely recommend.
  6. $100m for Bullet Train now seems likely. I consider it a win. TGM on the brink of passing Frozen II to take #11 on the all-time WW chart, where it will probably stay.
  7. Not as bad a drop as I expected for DBS.
  8. Never thought I'd see the day when a DragonBall movie opened at #1 at the domestic box office. The longevity of the brand is remarkable. As someone who grew up watching DBZ on Toonami in the early 2000s, it warms my heart. As for the movie itself, it was pretty good. Not the best DB film, but entertaining and engaging if you're a fan. I love the whole dynamic between the main characters, which didn't include Goku or Vegeta for once (a smart move). Looking forward to what Super has in store next.
  9. I'm so excited for Dragon Ball, gonna book my tickets for Friday!
  10. Saw Minions this weekend. Not a great movie, but entertaining enough. I can see why kids would love it. Heard some loud laughs from adults here and there too.
  11. I don't mind waiting just a little bit longer for numbers. I mean, sometimes early numbers just give premature hope or disappointment. Also, oof, I read Where the Crawdads Sing and enjoyed it overall, but the movie reviews so far have been making me wait until it's out on streaming.
  12. A few movies falling just short of big milestones, $100m for TBG and FB3 and $200m for Sonic.
  13. so, More likely that we'll see a Harry Potter and the Curse Child theatrical release?
  14. It's amazing how close their weekend gross was 3 weekends in a row: 1) MR: $35.677m / L&S: $35.260m 2) MR: $21.590m / L&S: $21.516m 3) MR: $12.557m/ L&S: $12.636m In the end, Stitch won the domestic crown but Cruise easily won WW
  15. I'd be more tempted to see Elvis if the reviews weren't mixed. Curious to see how WOM is, though.
  16. I quite enjoyed this movie. I liked the darker and weirder elements, and Strange is definitely more likeable here than he was in No Way Home. Plus, Wanda was awesome. I'm glad it passed $400m after all.
  17. Solid holds. Better than I expected for LY at under 11% but we'll see how it does today.
