  1. With inflation since the pandemic, it more likely to make rogue one numbers domestically than to finish alongside it worldwide. I have a hard time not seeing this be a huge event
  2. Die hard fans of Potter can change in 10 years. I know a few people who listen to Potter Audio books from start to finish atleast a few times a year but still dont have much interest in these spinoffs
  3. Ive not said it was the sole reason but youd have to have been living under a rock for the last few years to not see all the backlash created in firing Johnny. It would have had some contribution, even if just a small one
  4. You will ignore all sense of irony just to be argumentative
  5. I do think the Will Smith fiasco has had enough attention from media outlets now
  6. Johnny Depp hasn't been a draw in 10 years but that doesnt mean people hadn't took sides in his private troubles. It made alot of headlines at the time. I 100% agree this film dropping was inevitable with or without Depp but when it drops more than 50% it's not ridiculous to suggest it had a small contribution. It's a hefty drop after all
  7. I couldnt care less about Johnny Depp but it was everywhere so its not nonsense. Loads of people were talking about boycotting and now this movie is seeing a massive drop and you are all ignoring one of the reasons why. Dont shoot the messenger
  8. Johnny Depp will have had some effect, there was a huge wave of support for him online during his controversy and the movie is looking at dropping more than 50%. That too big of a drop to blame soley on diminishing returns. Just connect the dots.
  9. There's not been much in terms of male skewing raunchy comedies released since the metoo campaign though. That void could probably be capitalised on. Before 2016 we were getting atleast 1 major breakout a year with the likes of Ted, both Jump Streets, Neighbours, TITE or We're the Millers, all of which were original films then nothing with the exception of Deadpool (which ended up becoming the highest grossing Xmen movie). Comedy actors and directors seemed to have naturally branched out into more fitting roles these days and not much has taken their place but I think a breakout could easily happen if they just reignited the genre
  10. 50m is a poor number. I read alot of people saying they would boycott this over the Depp fiasco, I never believed they actually would but clearly it's hurt the gross
  11. This. The haters will get there opening weekend so they can be the first to hate on the sequel
  12. Man of steel has that honour. 4 of the greatest trailer I'd seen, shame about the film
  13. No I dont even know who Boebart is but it seems the right were the loons however the left seems to have taken over lately. My personal opinion. Micky, Mickey, who gives a shit
  14. I got that impression with the Leo insult. Just copied his joke but didn't word it any where near as well
  15. I think its mainly American comedy that's suffering right now. Jim Jefferies is my go to at the moment. He's one of those guys that can say anything and still come across as funny and likable
  16. I dont get how you are fine with people dunking on Caitlyn at the expense of the person she ran over as long as its not sexist however you're not fine with Amy joking about Baldwins incident because thats apparently at the expense of the cinematographer who was shot? Bit hyprocritical no? And lets not pretent peoples tolerance and standards have massively changed just because yours did. Those who found his jokes in 2016 funny still find them funny in 2022. The moment you bring in all these rules you ruin it.
  17. Never mind I just realised the source was shoddy, i didnt read much into it, i just read the headline but this is what they were referring to
  18. Ricky gervais joked about Caitlyn Jenner running someone over and people found it amusing so its hard to know where the line gets drawn these days
