I agree with the comparison to Transformers, at some points during the action scenes my eyes were glazing over a bit, which always happens during Transformers if it’s a CGI fest for too long on screen.
C too.
This was quite good but it had boring sections. I much prefer when things are in the real world. Still love Kong though, always feel for him. Great effects and it looked great in IMAX. Preferred Skull Island and GvK
3/5
I love both, but I’m the opposite - I love X more. This could end up being a mix.
Just hope they don’t make the UK wait 6 months later than the US for this like they did with Pearl.
Same cinemascore for The First Omen as Immaculate.
Glad some here also enjoyed it. I don’t think it felt long though, under 2hrs. So many unique shots and set-ups I hadn’t seen before. Hope the director gets another gig on the back of this.
Oh I thought this was excellent.
I’m not a huge fan of The Omen films, but this is fantastic. It’s beautifully shot. The budget is on screen. A class act.
Not sure which scene had audiences cheering etc as there’s nothing overly shocking, but it’s all so good.
Monkey Man was made for $10m, bought by Netflix for $30m and then bought again by Universal for $10m.
So I’m assuming the real winners are the producers and the losers are Netflix.
Ooof Immaculate down -31% on Thursday. Must be a combo of the discounted Wednesday it had plus the First Omen.
Still headed for over a 3x multiple though.
