  1. totally agree, I was just referring to tonight. yeah anyone that wants to see the game tonight and a movie another time will do so
  2. well the semis being on NYE is the main reason their ratings were down. But i am not disagreeing with you that the game may also have bad ratings, but still a championship game tends to get good viewers. however, yeah I don't know how big or little the impact will be. It may be very negligible as you are saying.
  3. it's possible that The Revenant could get some sort of boost after the win, but today's numbers could be bad for a lot of movies with the college football championship being on tonight.
  4. i hate when that happens. It completely ruins any movie with a creepy or scary atmosphere. That's what happened when I saw It Follows. I probably would have really liked the movie but the dumbass kids laughing and acting like idiots completely killed it for me.
  5. well even regardless of that, Sinister other than the home movies part was just not that good anyway
  6. totally agree that movie couldn't really be made now. I still can't breathe any time I watch and it gets to the first time the Hanson brothers get on the ice due to me laughing so hard
  7. Yeah pretty good trailer. I liked the first film and this looks like I will catch the second one too
  8. totally agree. I can see why anyone could pick either movie, I just happen to like Alien better. Just as I like Terminator 1 over 2
  9. I play the theme song on the piano for people. My mom loves the movie and song so I learned it for her a lone time ago. Slapshot is a good way to cheer up. Get the foil and go sit in the box and feel shame
  10. it does make my laugh how people try to tear down the success of any movie. Whether you like it or not, think it deserves it or not, doesn't change anything. I saw Avatar once in the theater in 3D (which didn't add anything to the film) and didn't think it was anything special, so I never tried seeing again until it came on cable. Now saying that, do I trash the film endlessly? No. Then again I don't trash it at all. I think it is the worst of the Cameron films, but that does say a lot since I love most of his films and like just about all. So even that really isn't a knock against the movie. Did the 3D help the gross? of friggin course it did, no one is denying that, but to say that is literally the SOLE reason is just not true. Some people apparently liked the story and other parts as well. Did it leave a cultural mark or anything like that, not really, but again, so what?!? it still was the biggest film DOM until yesterday and the sequel will be pretty huge too. not seeing what the big deal really is about all this
  11. and that just leaves the most obvious way of answering this "just let it in"
  12. and most of us are tired of reading them so we appreciate the work you and the others have been doing
  13. Nice number and I think I will use my pass to see TFA today for the 6th time and to be part of history again
  14. still a good club and while I was on the "losing" side, I am glad I said in
